What free agents should the Astros target next year?

Post#1 » by wadero » Wed Jul 18, 2007 5:00 pm

My vote is Aaron Rowand. Philies are unlikely to resign him because of Victorino. We can have him play center move Pence to right and our OF is set. Then hopefully we get a 3rd baseman? Who do you guys want as free agents?

I'd love to get Rowand, him and Pence in the OF would be sick.

I'm really not too sure about who all is a FA right now so I will have to check on that and post again later.

Best defensive OF ever right there. I must admit I wasn't all that against the trade for Jennings at first because I didn't feel like Willy T was that great(offensively) and I felt like Jennings was worth more than both Buch/Hirsh as a starter, but....

..that's also because I felt like Burke would be able to be a solid every day player and obviously(for now) that wasn't the case.

I really hope we get rid of Poopura soon, I don't want to put all the blame on him for us struggling this season but I really just have no confidence in him at all, and I wonder how good he can do at making trades if it isn't with his old mentor in Tampa.

i never did like the trade for jenning in the first place and its as i said before they tore us a new one on this trade. we gave up 2 starting pitchers and a good defensive center fielder and someone who had a good on base percentage for a pitcher that to me sucks this is one trade that will come back to haunt us in the future. i think this off season everyone but lee, berkman, oswalt, and pence are on the table to be traded. i think adam dunn even now cause i got more info on him would be a good fit for houston. he would be another power bat in the line up.

i wouldent mind seeing this line up even thought it will change and i dont think it would happen

burke
Loretta, Mark
pence
berkman
lee
dunn
Bruntlett, Eric
biggio
pitcher. what would u think of that lineup?

Moreyball would just make us into the A's. Win in the regular season but never win a damn thing in the postseason.
