Urias Sent Down

Post#221 » by Ranma » Sun May 21, 2017 6:57 pm

Well, that's that. Hopefully, Urias will make good use of his time to make the necessary adjustments.

Unbelievable that this team panicked and sent him down.

Should do wonders for his confidence.

The hell am I complaining for?
We're one blister or weight lifting incident from getting him back anyway.

**** outta here.

As much as I'm concerned with whatever possible mental blocks and mechanics are currently affecting him, I'm actually confident Julio will take it as a challenge to prove himself once more. He should be fine and, as Neddy said, this should help preserve his still young arm from wear and tear.

I'm not interested in that kinda talk.

Julio is an opportunity to help our franchise, not a reason to be scared of injury.
We already know he's going to have an innings limit. The FO is too smart for that and the fans would mutiny if we tried. With that information at our disposal, there's no more reason to handle him with more kid gloves than he already is.

We're looking to develop him into a workhorse for us, not just prevent his arm from breaking.
If his arm breaks, then so be it. We've done everything we could. You can't predict injury.

He pitched for us last year.
He pitched in the playoffs.
He deserves the opportunity to figure it out with guys like Yasmani and Austin Barnes...not go back to dominate AAA and come back here with the same doubts he'd always have.

Yay a wild pitch extends the game and we get an absolutely disgusting collision in right center.

Joc ran into Cody earlier so it's about time we stop blaming Puig every time this happens.

Brett Anderson ✔ @BAnderson3737
As bad as I pitched, this is by far the best team atmosphere I've been apart of...not even close.

This POS stole $16 million from our franchise and had the nerve to actually say this out loud.

Chris Taylor continues to impress.

Is this the 1st "spinning straw into gold" trade that every FO hater is asking for?

good stuff. good movement with breaking ball. good velocity with fastballs.

inconsistent delivery. looks like coaches have been working on his mechanics to correct his tendencies to sling his arm before his body turns, but it still shows up time to time. can't stop forward momentum when he does it and loses balance when landing. but looks better and more consistent as the game went on. a lot of upper body movement. doesn't use his lower body as well.

gives away pitches with his delivvery. slows his body down towards the end of his throwing motion with breaking balls. release point is high with breaking balls and drops his release point with fastballs.

fastball control is... not major league ready as a starter. as a reliever, that depends on his mental make up but being a college WS winner, he probably can pitch better than Sergio Romo for sure.

he seems to have a good feel with breaking balls in the upper half of the strike zone.

more sample size would be helpful, but that's what I got out of that video.
ehhhhh f it.

4 scoreless innings as a long relief. love it.
gotta get his arm strength back first. by second half, I think Ryu will outpitch guys with much bigger contracts than his.

Shouldn't be hard with the Never Ending Blister and Scott Kazmir possibly never even seeing the field this season.

WOW
I loved Chris Heston as a GIant, and now we have him for next to nothing. unbelievable. his only risk is his blood test from his 2015 season. if he was clean and still managed to put up the numbers of 2016 and so far of 2017, his WHIP should get under 1.5 in a hurry,

do I think he will be our ace? no but he is capable of being a lightening in a bottle. I am certain he is not done, for sure. he is a giants' import version of Brock.
ehhhhh f it.
