We better feast on this bullpen.

Even Peyton being Peyton isnt an excuse to lose today with 12 outs left.

I will just never get used to the concept of pulling a functioning Pitcher for no reason other than stats...

There's no redeeming quality about it or this particular move:
1) Wood has not been sharp this October.
2) Cora was obviously going to match your move.
3) Baez (much to my surprise) has been our best or second best reliever this postseason.

We're supposed to be an analytics team that values the the feel of the team, clubhouse, professionalism etc. etc. We're a franchise that makes deals for guys like Granderson when they don't have much analytical value.

Dave is just not bright at these decisions. He will follow his gut for old crappy vets like Granderson or Utley....but anything else and he needs his cheat sheet w/ his analytical notes.

Hopefully Ryu gets busy tomorrow and we can get home with a split.

Just can't seem to get anything going... Still have no idea why Grandahl... Who's clearly in a slump, is being put in for Barnes, who may not be the best hitter, still seems to find a way to hit some clutch balls for us.

Walker Buehler.

Game 163.
Game 7 NLCS.
Game 3 WS down 2-0.

He’s had every big must win start so far.

Given his two Game 3 starts (one which is excusable by the Kershaw late blow up standard...see a few pages back), he makes me nervous. But his start in 163 and his start in Game 7 are also reasons to be optimistic.

All I know is, we are home and we probably need all 3 or it’s going to another WS L and more than likely, LAD with the most WS losses in MLB history.

We only have 6 total against like 23 pennants.

Was gonna leave this alone because of Ranma's meltdown a few pages ago but....I'm not going to not have discussion because some can't. I trust you can disagree without being emotional and disagreeable/ needing breaks from the forum.

Dave is being objective and not a prisoner of the mob's moment....he's said he could see Yas getting a start depending on how Austin pitches.

Austin doesn't have a hit since Game 5. In 11 ABs, he has struck out 6 times. No BB. Worst? They're blowing fastballs by him. His clutch hit was from a grounder up the middle with 30% chance of being a hit (and a clutch walk in Game 2). Milwaukee had the IF in because a runner was on 3rd. This also seems to be a pattern for Barnes. Big HR in Game 3 of the NLDS against Arizona in 2017, practically nothing in the playoffs after that last year.

He is catching because if both bats are going to be anemic, go with the non-passed ball Catcher.

But I can't fault Dave for trying to see if he can make something happen by floating Yas out there for an AB. The Catcher spot is growing into the pitcher spot for us. I can fault him if he subs out Freese for Yas. That's incredibly stupid.

But again. I like Grandal. He is a good catcher. It boggles my mind he can be this bad in October. I also won't lie about who Barnes is to please and appease the twitter mob.

Read on Twitter

Here's Chad Moriyama making fun of a guy at Dodger's Digest who suggested Yasmani should be starting.

You should read the chain going down this tweet. Even Chad (and others), after making fun of the sentiment in this tweet, admits that it's not the worst idea in the world but nobody will take it on because "they hate Grandal".

you people forget...

1955, we started that WS being down 0-2. we won that.

1965, against the Twins, we lost once again, 0-2. then we came back to win it.

back in 1981, we were again down by 0-2 against the Yanks, and we came back to win that. in fact, we won 4 straight to wrap up that series in 6.

I may not have enough will to discuss intricacies of each moves and plays, and by the way I knew Mookie was going on the first pitch in game 1... but I haven't lost my faith in my Dodgers.

at least once a year or so, when I am bored and have about 3 hours to spare, I watch Sandy Koufax's game 7 footage of this series of that 1965 WS. if anyone wants to watch something inspiring, I highly recommend it

Need that positivity around here. We can do it. We’ve done it all year.

Walker goes tonight.
For our season.

Cannot wait.
In August, we would have begged to be in this position.

Ignore the Twitter mob when it strikes.

Brian Dozier is no better than Logan Forsythe and provides nothing to us Forsythe couldn’t have. He may even be worse overall than Forsythe was....particularly as it relates to October.

But....twitter hated Forsythe, so we had to do that lateral move.

I think pinch hitting Clayton Kershaw for Julio Urias with no men on base might be the stupidest thing I have ever seen.
