I hate to say it, but Varejao's injury was the best thing to happen to Tristan. 21-9-5 tonight.

Again, last season his numbers began picking up when Andy went down for the season... they play similar games, although Varejao's more of a hustler.

Maybe it's just me but TT, if he ever got a J, could be a better defending David Lee ceiling-wise. Helps that he's not playing for Mike D'Antoni for a considerable amount of time.

One sequence in particular that I liked was him facing up against KG then beating him off the dribble and finishing with a nice baby hook. :)

TT offensive game is now very nice. His rebounding is also nice. I still think he has to up is defensive game though. Lots of times, he is not where he should be on help defense or primary low post defense.

Don't get me wrong, compared to earlier this year this is amazing. I wonder if that's the next thing the coaches are refining.

I'm going to be curious how he plays with the new big guy. I think Zellers minutes will drop a lot more than TT's in the experiment that is sure to come.

And amazing as it sounds Walton looked decent last night. Those passes were very nice. Maybe that's just against teams over the hill. :D

The bigs were playing well especially in the passing department. TT, Tyler, and Walton combined for like 16 assists.

11 games played in January....

14.4 points
11.6 rebounds
2.0 assists

....then again I remember posting a very similar summary for JJ Hickson once.

Can't believe people are still sleeping on Tristan Thompson aka Canadian Dynamite. He went from being super raw and confuse, to having excellent foot work, and multiple offensive moves and a soft touch. He took it to Drummond & Maxielle on several occasions. I understand benching the starters, but why punish Tristan?

Tristan continues to be a beast.
