That's not happening. He's a catcher and he **** up his throwing shoulder.

We don't know if his shoulder is done for good. If it is, he's much more valuable right now then he will be next season. Someone will take a chance on him and we don't need him with Contreras.

When's the last time a guy who just had surgery on a torn labrum got traded?

Injured minor leaguers get traded all the time. The #3 ranked catching prospect and 32nd overall at 21 years old still has tons of value, hurt or not. We traded Burnes for two guys considered worse prospects than Quero and one of them (Ortiz) tore his labrum a couple of years ago.

I agree with RS. I don’t think Quero at the moment can land an established #3 starter at the big league level, even with a fringe guy. There are just too many questions with health and pitching is valuable.

Last year would you have ever considered trading Peralta for a top 30 prospect with a torn labrum on his throwing arm and a utility player?

And I also don’t think you giveaway Quero yet for like another back end rotation guy that may or may not help. I dont think we’re quite that “win now” mode yet.

That’s awful, especially since it seemed like he had one foot in retirement prior to joining up again.

What a weird season. Your closer goes down in spring training, your number 2 starter on an already sketchy rotation blows out his elbow, your highest paid dude gets hurt a week in, and none of your prized prospects have really popped..... but your 17-8

Now it should be noted that Turang and Perkins playing like all stars would definitely be in the unexpected good category. Turang a little less so, he was a pretty highly regarded prospect at one point. The Perkins heater is completely out of no where. Doubt he keeps it up but baseball is weird and maybe something at the plate just clicked for him, dude could always run and field.

What is it with some of you not knowing how to spell MVP? It's only 3 letters.

Hard for those two to win MVP with Contreras getting all those votes ;)

We can’t roll with this rotation too much longer can we? Wilson best case is 4 innings unless they somehow can stretch him out over time. Ross is feast or famine, and feast is like a 1-2 run 6 inning start. Peralta/Rea are stable although I feel like Rea is going to regress a bit from a 3.25 era / 127 era+. Both of those are by far career highs if hold up. Myers I have not personally seen yet, but numbers look mediocre. At least at 25 and new to MLB he may have some upside. I don’t know much about his prospect rank, etc.

I haven’t really heard how its going, but think its up to AAA now. If successful would assume it be in MLB in a few years maybe.

There is no reason not to use it.

Anyone know how this works logistically with his suspension? Does he serve it in the minors now? Whenever they call him back up does he serve it then?

He has to be on the major league roster to serve it.

Uribe probably should have been sent down a week ago. I would understand a longer leash for somebody who's more proven, but he's been a hot mess.
