So, I'm just going to leave this here for now. South Florida and PEDs? I don't want to think about it, but there is one former University of Miami player that we all know of that was connected to PEDs in the last couple years. Don't think it's the same guy that was quoted in the article, but there were a couple alarms going off in my head when I read this.

Looks like Yuni found some incriminating photos of Charlie Manuel.

Decent number of players have been named as clients to a Miami area clinic known for supplying PEDs, namely HGH. A-Rod, Gio Gonzalez, Melky Cabrera and Nelson Cruz are the big ones. Key here is if allegations are true, they can be hit with a suspension; no test needed.

The guy's notes were ridiculous. "I need to get A-Rod more roids on Friday" basically.

Yasmani Grandal is a pretty big name as well.

Not surprising. He's already suspended for the first 50 games of the season.

Wow, I completely missed that Grandal part about already being suspended.

I hope after further investigation they don't have an order to Braun with these Miami connections.

The thought occurred to me too. God that would be devastating.

Yeah when I saw the headline involving those big names I immediately thought about Braun.

Until this goes away officially, I'll be sweating.

That said, I think even if the paper had a guy with like 5 degrees separation of a Braun address it would probably run with it, no matter the evidence.

Yesterday, the A's traded Chris Carter, Brad Peacock, and a prospect catcher for Jed Lowrie and Fernando Rodriguez from the Astros.

Normally I totally get the future potential trades that the A's make, but this is the second in a row where they have given up solid minor league prospects for only decent MLB talent.

I'm assuming Lowrie is going to be their vs. LHP SS. I'm guessing that Carter/Wallace/Pena platoon at 1B/DH. That's a decent platoon, though Wallace doesn't seem to be panning out against RHP like you would want him to.

EDIT: Is Lowrie going to play other positions? Nakajima bats righty as well, hit righties well last year, but normally was good against lefties. I'm a bit confused there.

EDITx2: Here is some clarity. Didn't know Peacock had fallen off a bit.

Hopefully they are due for a season where they don't have magical fill-in pitchers with sub 3.00 era's and fill-in hitters that hit .330.

ETA: They seemed to be pretty loaded with pitching prospects, they'll probably be fine.

More on Carpenter. They seem to lose a frontline starter every year.

Fransisco Liriano to the Pirates on a strange incentive-laden contract.

Return to Milwaukee Brewers
