So I know he's barely a year removed from winning the AL Cy Young, but I would imagine TJ surgery for Verlander - who will be 38 next season - does not bode well for his career.

Did the season end in early August as feared?

OK, I had to get my one shot in. Good work on getting the season in. These playoffs should be weird/fun but at the very least I would imagine we've established that we'll have a 162 game season next year if we want it. Hopefully we can tailgate/go again, but we'll see about that.

This ESPN Squeeze Play is better than Redzone. I love it.

Jesus Aguilar taking Jeffress deep. Cubs losing that's a shame :)

Losing 18 straight postseason games is simply amazing.

Twins have to be right up there for most depressing franchises I would assume?

They have a dope stadium and have actually won a WS so not all bad.

MSP is an underrated sports misery city though. You have the Vikes ripping their hearts out for like 50 years with some real close calls, the wolves have just been bad, then this twins streak, plus big hockey town that not only hasn't won a Stanley Cup but also lost their team for a while.

Also their college team is generally terrible.

The Padres bat flipping the classy cards out of the playoffs would be a nice way to end a mostly crap sports week.

The whole NL Central - four teams, half the field - only won one playoff game.

All four NL Central teams were shut out in their elimination game.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I still am not sure I understand what the Marlins were doing with that Gallen/Chisolm trade, but they're going to be a solid team going forward.

Alcantara/Sixto/Lopez is a nice start to the staff with I'm sure plenty of good prospects waiting to go and they have a comically low projected payroll going forward. I know Jeter and the Marlins in general are going to be assumed to be cheap, but they'll make a splash or two now that they should be getting competitive agian.
