They were able to get by with Wang last year for half the year so I think they should be okay with 12 pitchers. I don't feel comfortable with only 4 bench guys when they have Ramirez and Lind constantly needing days off. The same can be said with Braun if his thumb issues persist.

The Brewers were one of a few teams interested in trading for Dodgers infielder Alex Guerrero, though nobody was interested in paying Guerrero the $14MM he’s owed through 2017, ESPN Los Angeles’ Mark Saxon reports. Some teams were staying away from a trade and instead hoping L.A. would just release the Cuban prospect in the wake of his tough 2014 campaign. A good Spring Training, however, has earned Guerrero a spot on the Opening Day roster and kept him in the Dodgers’ future plans

Guerrero would be a great pickup. Defense is suspect so that makes me a bit wary but he'd be a perfect platoon-mate at 2B and he could start a fair amount at 3B.

Unfortunately, I saw that he has the option to be a FA next year on his contract if he is traded this year...

Morris' stock fell pretty quick. I believe he was a MiLB player of year for Crew system a few years back.

Thought it was funny that people ever thought he was our first baseman of the future.

Agreed.

At best he seemed like a .210/.295/.450 type guy in the majors.

If Lind is a 1-2Y guy, do we really have any good 1B prospects? I believe Clark is already 28 years old and doesn't seem like a stud prospect or anything. Lucroy seems like he is most valuable behind the plate but I guess if he starts breaking down, could move him and plug in a new catcher. I know Clint Coulter is a higher prospect and C, although i thought they were tinkering with a position change with him too.

He still should have been our everyday regular last year.

ETA: and no, I don't think he would have been good.

Even though Reynolds does not have sharp splits, I'd still have played him on that side of the platoon, but yeah, probably couldn't have been worse than Overbay.

Yeah. Ryan Braun. This idea of his speed and defense being wasted at first is silly. He could still steal bases, and having a little more range at 1b can allow you to shift other infielders ever so slightly and close off more of the space up the middle. And speed isn't as much of an asset in the outfield if you don't always get the right read on the ball coming off the bat. Braun is possibly faster Mike Cameron was when he was a Brewer, but how many fly balls did Cameron catch that Braun would have missed? Methinks a lot.
