2023 Brewers/League Prediction Thread - LOCKS TODAY AT NOON

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Mar 23, 2023 4:45 pm

One week until opening day. Give your Brewers/MLB predictions. Be as general or detailed as you want. Just Brewers win/loss or predict all playoff teams and champs.

This will lock next Thursday morning.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Brewers 78-84. No playoffs. Lame duck CC announces he will not be back in 2024. Burnes is traded at the deadline. Adames is traded during the off-season. Woodruff is signed to a 3 year extension.

89-73, Win the NL central, lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

-No extensions or trades for the Big 3.
-Turang, Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell all up before the ASB but Chourio does not debut this year
-All stars are Devin, Corbin, and Woodruff

World Series: Mets over Yankees

I'm bullish on the Crew and down on the rest of the NL Central. I also think they'll be squarely in the playoff picture and decide to make another run at a title, not trading Burnes or Adames until the off-season or 2024 trade deadline.

95-67
Beat Mets in NLCS
Lose WS to Yankees
Very good pitching
Very good defense
Good offense
Good rookies

It's a pretty strong roster IMO, but they're flying under the radar because expectations have changed.

I think season is going to be an bottom 10 total clean out at deadline or 88+ wins, no in between. I will be optimistic and believe the staff will be top tier in MLB and this year we'll have more offense.

Brewers 88-74. Think its enough to win division as think Cards fall a bit and no one else steps up in division. Brewers will be bounced in NLCS by Braves.

Braves over Mariners in World Series.

Playoffs
NL: Braves, Padres, Brewers, Dodgers, Phillies, Mets
AL: Astros, Yankees, White Sox, Mariners, Blue Jays, Rays

Surprise NL Team: Diamondbacks
Surprise AL Team: Angels will be in the playoff mix.

Brewers surprise for the good will be Jesse Winkler. Disappointment will be Contreras is just mediocre and doesn't add much.

I want to zig when most meatball fans zag - this team is probably undervalued due to a lot of fluky underperformance stuff.

But the other elephant in the room is if they struggle early, they could sell it all off.

I'm going to say 88 wins and a loss in the first series round, whatever that is. Maybe I'll add more picks/detail later.

I'll go 90 wins and a deep playoff run where they rip our heart out in game 7 of the NLCS, true Wisconsin sports team style.

Then they blow it up next winter.

I think they'll be good. Buyers at the deadline.

Feels like they’re a .500 team that if things go right can be a 90 win team.

But it’s the Brewers so 81-81 it is.

Mid to high 80s wins. Good enough to be buyers at the deadline. All or nothing offense sputters when it matters

I'll be an optimist here. 90-wins. I never predict playoffs and not gonna start now.

They'll win some cool ones, lose some heartbreakers, and ultimately disappoint. And that's okay I guess.
