Marlins are pretty pissed at the Mets. They think the game on Wednesday shouldn't have been PPD and that there was a window to finish last night but the Mets' grounds crew, probably saying "**** it, season is over" didn't have the field ready to play in said 20 minute window.

Assuming the Marlins would win that suspended game if finished, a Brewer win tonight and Marlins win tonight would knock out the Cubs.

We've decided not to pitch Woody and Peralta this weekend. Rea tonight, Hauser Sunday. No starter announced for Saturday.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, I don't blame whatever they do and I'm sure the Brewers themselves care less than I do about Marlins or Cubs or D-Backs, but they seem like they are not going to try too hard to knock the Cubs out themselves.

Not like Rea or Houser couldn't beat them, though. And the Cubs are going to have to throw Steele out there, making him potentially unavailable for a good deal of the Wild Card series.

I feel for them despite the fact that it could help the Brewers. However, the rain here has been insane, and the fact that there are playoff implications doesn't change the weather - it really feels like he's unfairly taking his frustration out on them.

I would have preferred to give Woodruff and Peralta a few innings each to keep them sharp, but I'm sure the Brewers have much better rest days data than I do.

If the Marlins can't play, wouldn't that be a win? It's been 8+ innings.

It would revert back to the last full inning and they would lose 1-0

Yeah, that's what will happen if there are no playoff implications. They're saying the game will be finished if there's playoff implications though. NYC is a disaster right now, but they should be ready for a Monday game.

Steele will pitch Sunday if the Cubs are still in it. If he does pitch and they get in he won't be available for the WC round unless he comes back on short rest.

I think he has to pitch no matter what unless they make some assumptions.

Even if Cubs win 2, Marlins lose 2 over the next 2 days, the Cubs can't know. First pitch on Sunday is at the same time for both teams. With that extra Marlins suspended game looming, they can't make any assumptions. Cubs would be 1.5 ahead but would have to try to win. If they would lose on Sunday/Marlins win on Sunday, then the Marlins could get in by holding the suspended victory on Monday.

Marlins lead, Brewers lead. Let's wrap this up. Can't technically wrap it up but it would be a 1.5 lead for Miami with 2 to go plus their Mets game if needed.

Marlins score 4 in the top of the 8th to take a 4-3 lead! Now starting the 9th in Pittsburgh. Boy it would be a shame to see a team with such a great run differential like the Cubs go out like this, wouldn't it?

I'm watching a Cubs stream and the announcers are so demoralized and quiet it's like watching a PBS show about how people don't use libraries as much as they used to.

Blowing these games off completely is a mistake IMO. They care so much about analytics all the time but they don't care about trying to set up for the Marlins in round 1? Ridiculous.
