Feel bad for Devin, but it would be great if he were back by early July.

Damn. Glad he should make a full recovery though and at least it is a position of depth, seemingly at least.

…and literally drafted him an hour ago in my fantasy baseball league, haha, siiiiiigh.

I still like the bullpen. But that rotation is an eyesore.

Atleast the bullpen is deep and atleast he should be back by June. Fangraphs Roster Resource already lists Trevor Megill as the closer which seems odd. I'm fascinated to see how Pat Murphy handles the closer role, does he let Uribe just take it? Does Payamps or Megill get a chance? Most likely it'll be a committee and not just one guy but I'm very interested

I hope they don't go this route, but Miso and Hall are lock down 8-9 options.

So he was pitching through back soreness late last season and we didn't think to at least get it looked after the season?

Always trade elite relief pitchers when the iron is hot.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS. ****.

I hope they at least listened to offers. I imagine that most teams are reluctant to pay steep trade prices, but it only takes one.

My spring optimism is really being tested, not going to lie. I genuinely went into camp thinking the Brewers could be kind of frisky, but I don't know. The starting rotation looks like it could be really **** bad. Miley is already having injury issues, Ashby I'm starting to wonder if will ever be a positive contributor, Ross hasn't looked good it would appear, Peralta either for that matter. I know it is spring, so have to take some of it with a grain of salt but would be nice to see a little more positive. I'm guessing at this point the rotation will be Peralta, Hall, Junis, Rea, and then the 5th a bullpen day. I think Ashby may start in AAA to get work if they want him to be a starter. Miley I assume will open on the injured list.

Bullpen I feel is deep, but losing Williams is not ideal. It is probably not a guarantee guys like Payamps, Wilson, Milner will have as good as numbers as last year. I hope so, but we'll see. I expect Uribe to maybe be a little more up and down too. But the depth seems to be there even with Williams' injury.

Offensively I'm intrigued yet. I'm hopeful Contreras, Yelich, Hoskins, Adames will be a solid core of hitters and then we'll get some regular contributions from Chourio, Frelick, and maybe Sanchez. After that I think is bonus as I'm not convince guys like Turang, Ortiz, Mitchell, Wiemer are ever going to be consistent enough hitters throughout a full season. I'm hopeful 1 of them proves me wrong.

Defense I would think would be mid to upper tier in the league. For the guys above that can't hit, all are really good defensively at least.

We'll see what happens.

The Brewers have 3 of the first 8 days off so they don't really need a 5th starter for the first 2 weeks or so fwiw

Been following box scores and echoing what others have been saying. It is only pre-season and I don't like losing by 10 every day.

Feeling like a boring year coming up after the fresh paint of our Youngings comes loose.

Exactly. Kinda like last with Turang, Wiemer, Mitchell. It was fun for about a month and then flaws showed through. At least we kept winning. This year, I don’t know. Hopefully Chourio provides some spark.

No clue what they do lineup wise but here's what I'd love to see.

1. Frelick - RF
2. Churio - CF
3. Yelich - DH
4. Hoskins - 1B
5. Contreras - C
6. Adames - SS
7. Mitchell - LF
8. Black/Ortiz - 3B
9. Turang/Ortiz - 2B

They probably play Yelich in LF and DH Sanchez to start

My best guess at Opening Day is:

DH - Sanchez
C - Contreras
1B - Hoskins
2B - Turang
SS - Adames
3B - Ortiz
LF - Yelich
CF - Chourio
RF - Frelick
SP - Peralta

If they go Frelick at 3B, then Mitchell starts in RF.
