So hypothetically if he caught the ball clean or even blocked it, it was the right call as if the bat hits the helmet/body of the catcher its an automatic strike. He was ruled out b/c was strike 3.
Where it gets subjective is the ball was already by the catcher thus the bat/batter did not interfere with anything; umpire just saw bat hit helmet and ruled interference.
****. Really would have been nice to pull that one out to get some positive vibes back.
