Matt Morris, a legit #2 starter.

not for fmart. if morris can keep pitching well (e.g. under era of 4) we can talk about a OF like gomez for him.

That's a big stretch, the Giants would be foolish to trade either Cain straight up for Martinez OR Lincecum straight up for Martinez, none the less both.

giants would laugh at us if we offered f mart for cain or lincecum.

Good pitching is a lot harder to find.

I can see your point with Fernando, but Milledge?

I could see a deal with Milledge and Morris as the main pieces.

mets say: no thanks.
milledge still has a lot of potential in my book. he fits the mets mold of playing right now. speed and defense. everything else will come with experience.

Minaya would trade 'nando' & milledge for Cain straight up let alone Lincecum.

Cain is one of the youngest starting SP in baseball, and almost has 2 seasons under his belt. (yes, he's even younger than Lincecum).

fmart and milledge for lincecum? i need to see more... hes been roughed up the last few times.
for cain? ehhh, id be hesitant, but i havent seen this guy pitch, so ill reserve judgement.

we'd entertain the idea of taking on morris, but his postseason stats arent so hot. not for milledge tho, and certainly not for fmart.

I'm only trading Gomez in a package for an ace. No way do I trade him for Matt Morris. Omar can find us decent starters without giving up top prospects.

if you dont want to give up fmart or milledge, who is next on the list of young OFers that the giants would want?

I'm not saying that I would give up gomez for morris, but milledge and fmart are certainly out of the question.

neither am i saying that the mets should pull this trade, but gomez is probably what it takes to get morris. unfortunately, you cant trade away a bag of baseballs for a good pitcher- doesnt work like that.
