Noah Syndergaard debut against the Cubs!

Post#1 » by Stannis » Sat May 9, 2015 6:28 am

I thought this deserved it's own thread.

He's going to get a call after Gee had a groin injury. He's probably going to get 2-3 starts till Gee returns (Alderson will want some value for Gee so he isn't just going to push him aside and make Thor a guaranteed starter unless he really kills it).

Anyways, I'm excited to see him.

Also, if you are outside NY, this game will air on MLBtv.

It was so sweet. I picked up Thor for my fantasy team on May 6th. Epic timing. Im hoping for big things. He doesnt seem to have the best personality for NY (starting arguments on twitter with random people) so he better start strong. I dont see him responding well to NY media. But he has all the talent to start off strong

Mets starting Lineup 2016?

Harvey
Degrom
Wheeler
Syndergard
Matz

:o So young and so awesome. Im thinking on of them may be shipped off for a big time bat in july

I've always been a big supporter of trading THOR. We need a difference making bat in this lineup. Excited to see him pitch tho

I personally hope the marlins crash and burn again and we can snatch Stanton for maybe a THOR nimmo and some B, C level prospects

Maybe David Wright will toss his phone in the thrash this time.

May as well use this thread for the game tonight. Noah is the biggest news for tonight's game.

But one thing to note, Lagares is out with an arm strain. Huge blow on defense and offense.

That really sucks. We need some better bench bats. Mayberry looks like he deserves to be DFA. Kirk looks terrible with the bat. Surprisingly tejada has been pretty steady.

Hyped to see the ultimate trade bait prove his worth

Calling six innings, seven strike outs, two walks while giving up two runs.

Pitching has to almost go perfect against any decent team.

The team has been frustrating lately. Not just with the hitting and errors. But the mistakes off the boxscores. Tonight it was Murphy's slow long toss that should've been an easy out. And Granderson getting out at third when he should've stayed safe at 2nd.

And Alex Torres can't throw strikes.

One thing that concerned me with Noah tonight was that he throws hard, but it didn't have any movement at all. Some of his curves were down right filthy, buckled some batters. Still a solid first start, looked like our best hitter out there.

Yea, I noticed that too. Wheeler throws pretty hard too and has control issues like Noah, but his fastball moves a lot more.

Noah and DeGrom will start pinch hitting.

Thor's curveball:

Damn Thor's secondary pitches have really been impressive. That curve is killing it. His fastball Curve combo will be devastating. And 0 walks the last 2 games and only 1 in the last 3?!?!? Shieeeeeeeeet
