That is the intention of Willie Randolph tonight, do you really think it is the best move for the Mets to make right now?
Obviously he will be able to see better pitches batting in front of Beltran, however in doing so we are completely changing the way Wright and Reyes play. Does Reyes still have a chance to steal that many bases? Does Wright wait for Reyes to try and steal, or does he go out there looking to swing?
I mean for the time being we need Wright to get his bat back, but im very weary of this move. Thoughts?

As long as LoDuca isnt there.
But yeah i agree. Its not the best place to bat Wright. Wright is and will be a 3 hitter. We should start him early.
Beltran is absolutely PERFECT for the 2 hole. Takes pitches, hits everywhere, hits for power, has great speed...
Id love to see this lineup:
Reyes
Beltran
Wright
Delgado
Alou
Green
LoDuca
Gotay

Beltran has 7 homers, so I'm not sure how I feel about him batting #7. He's probably our best hitter. He may walk more than Wright - fine, so he gets on base for Beltran & Delgado & Alou. The lineup is deep enough that we don't need to stack the lineup with best on base percentages at the 1 & 2 spots.
Plus - Beltran's been doing great in the 3 spot - if it ain't broke, as they say. Wrights been strugling, so he's the guy to move in the order. I think, batting behind Reyes is more of a thinkers position, cause you want to take pitches & let the guy steal - all that. That's part of why DelGado was so good at it. But Wright's always been a good hitter. He can handle it. He tends to strike out a bit more than you'd want from a #2 hitter, but - so what, he's good everywhere else. Good for average, some power. I think it was smart of Willie to put Wright at #2 and it seems to be working. I don't think Beltran at 2 would be better.

Didn't expect to be rooting for the Celtics, but that's what happened.
