When Hughes is healthy doesn't he throw in the mid 90's?

So impressive so far. That fastball is so dominant with its late movement.

When his arm strength is up there, but nobody has their late season arm strength after throwing 50-60 innings. He was hitting 95 in the AA playoffs last season and struck out 13.

Finally, Scott Boras is here and I had a chance to speak to him for 10 minutes or so during batting practice. The short version is this: They will not talk to the Yankees about an extension during the season and he believes Alex Rodriguez is worth $32-35 million a year.

I think it was pretty obvious that Boras would say Arod is worth 30+ million a year. Thing is I can't see too many teams willing to pay 30+ a year and then have a formidable team around Arod. I would say the Red Sox, Mets and Cubs are probably the only teams that would have money left over. Arod won't go to the Red Sox because of the abuse he got from their fans over the past few years. The Mets won't sign him because they already have Wright and Reyes and for considerably less. Cubs will probably not be in a position to sign him because they are selling their team this winter and won't be able to add considerable salary. The only question that remains is if Arod is going to have his contract extended or if Arod will opt out and then re-sign with us. -Jitpal

Yankees score 7-6

Robbie singles
Betemit singles
Melky hits a grounder to 3rd base, 3rd base to 2nd for force out then he throws home to get Cano but Betemit's slide takes him out and the throw is off.
