Joe G. has proven he knows how to develop a bullpen over the course of the season. If Drob can hold it together, they'll be ok.

It's stupid. The MLB has more teams win the World Series than any other sport in the past 30 years. They're fine.

And the Yanks pay the most in revenue sharing, and the teams that collect the most, don't do crap with the money.

You're right. I guess I just resent the fact that can go buy whoemever they want without regard to cost (I'm a Mets fan :) )

I like this guy Tanaka. He has the make up to do well here. Plus he's only 25 years old and can opt out after 4 years if he's anywhere as good as advertised. It's pretty obvious the team doesn't care about the 189 mark anymore, so why should I care what they do with their money? I may not like or agree with the majority of the moves that were made this off-season, but I can respect that they're trying to field a competitive team. It doesn't always work out but so what. Some of you guys are completely spoiled from the last 18 years.

I loved Cano but he was not worth that money... im sorry to break it to you. I see what your saying... Cano is gonna be making 24 million when he is 41. Im glad he got his money, and im glad its not with us.

Ellsbury will be 37 when hes done with us.
Tanaka will be 32
Beltrans deal is a 1 year deal coming off a great season and hes one of the best post season players in the history of the game.
McCan will be 35 when his deal is up (we have a team option the last year).

Our catchers may as well been pitchers at the plate last year, fine defensively but at least McCan is a threat at the plate... we need that back. Still need to replace Cano defensively but it could also allow us to experiment with putting Jeter at 2b and 3b instead of SS as he nears the end of his career. Maybe we could get Michael Young as insurance? I think Drew wants too much but if it keeps him off BOS then that sweetens the pot a little bit.

Right now:

1. CC
2. Tanaka
3. Kuroda
4. Nova
5. (Pineda, Phelps, someone else, BPA)
CP: Robinson

C. McCann (7)
1B. Tex (4)
2B. Roberts (9)
SS. Jeter (2)
3B. K.Johnson (8)
RF. Beltran (5)
CF. Ellsbury (3)
LF. Gardner (1)
Bench/DH: Soriano (6), Ichiro, Ryan, Nunez, Cervelli

Great outfield depth. Good defensive backups.

Need to improve 3B, 2B (hopefully Roberts stays healthy).
Go Knicks!

People are starting to get way too bold and comfy. Just because you listen to rap music...

I stopped using the word around '07. It was such a huge part of the language growing up in NY, especially where I was in Harlem that it seemed like a way to grasp urban culture while also, and more importantly, rebelling against anyone who didn't understand the hip-hop generation that I grew up in. "Bill O'Reilly says rap music is xyx... well Fuq that ni**" etc.

But reading and understanding that your personal "statements'"against society norms should be secondary to respecting history. It took time for me to lose the habit of using that word especially when everyone around me uses it in every sentence. But I did, and I'm glad i did.

I'm trying too. Every now and then I slip up and say it.
It's like trying to stop cursing.

Going to need depth when 2/3rds of the team is on the DL.
