Baltimore O's (2-4) @ New York (3-3): More Bird hunting

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Mon Apr 7, 2014 1:50 pm

Slowly but surely the Yanks are looking like the team Brian Cashman & Joe Girardi envisioned.

The Yanks are running, sacrificing, and stretching for the extra base. By moving the red hot Ellsbury to the third slot, the 1-3 order has been transformed into a hitting machine. No one could have imagined the emergence of the 26-year old rookie 3B Solarte would make such a huge impact.

Pitching wise, the Yanks have a very formidable 1-5. Tonight Kuroda has every bit of a chance to rebound after not getting any offensive support. Followed by Nova and Tanaka.

Lots to look forward to this opening series at Yankee Stadium.

Let's GO Yanks!

good win... the pitching looks strong and the offense is getting it done without the home run. That is a good sign.

Robertson is headed to dl with a grade 1 groin strain, hopefully back in 2 weeks

That line up has only one legitimate home run threat in Soriano, the Ruben Sierra of today. He got his first two hits. Girardi has straightened 1-3 order. Now, can Beltran and McCann carry more of Tex's presence?

Also another hit by that 26-year old rookie 3B. Solarte really solidifying the hot corner.

Yup Solarte is really playing well, the biggest surprise of the season so far. Could we have possibly found a decent 3rd baseman for nothing...

Ellsbury is a true game changer. He just has to stay healthy

We got something back for Nunez
AndrewMarchand 3m
Nunez traded to Minnesota for LHP Miguel Sulbaran, a 20-year-old Single-A lefty.

Nova continuing his trend of not knowing how to pitch effectively in the early part of the season.

Ellsbury and solarte have been on fire
