Desalvo is all over the place, but then our fielding sucks. A-rod with the wild throw should have thrown the ball home, that would have been an easy out, then phelps with a routine play and a wild throw to second, I mean just horrible. Phelps just should not be starting on this team, the bad fielding, the rally killing double plays, now we are down 3-1 to a team that could not hit their way out of a paper bag... damn!!!

I like Phelps as a hitter, just not as a fielder.

DeSalvo just wasn't throwing strikes, and he doesn't have enough swing and miss pitches in his arsenal to get him out of jams.

we were smart not to go for gonzales from the pirates. Braves got him and now he is out for the season, but damn we need a bullpen arm or two. guys who can throw strikes and just get guys out, this shyt vallone is pulling, along with vizcaino is killing us at times..

That would be a complete no brainer. DeSalvo has little if any future in the majors, and Clippard's ceiling is no more than a #3.

What do you guys think of Ron Guidry as your pitching coach? Maybe he's the one that really needs to go.

I think hes doing a great job. Wang had a career year last year, mussina had an era below 4, pettite has been great with an era below 3, proctor and bruney...enough said...

He's doing a better job than stottlemyre thats for sure.

would the cubs do that, eventhough carlos is a free agent, and will the yankees take a guy with his temper?
