We Suck.

Post#1 » by GS Warriors 1 » Sat Jun 17, 2017 11:39 pm

This season just seems to hit new lows daily now.

Season-high 18 games under .500, 18.5 games out of first place, and the 2nd worst record in baseball.

Nunez is the only guy I see traded at this point. He's played relatively well, has defensively value at multiple positions, and he's a FA after the season.

Nobody's even commenting here -- that's how bad it is right now. But yeah, it just gets worse. A few days later and we've just been swept by the Mets, and every game seems to play out the same way. Give up runs early, play catch-up all game, other team pulls away, loss. And we just keep sinking farther and farther below five hundred. Twenty-three games under now.

The problem is that we signed a bunch of players to long-term contracts, they've all (except for Posey) stopped improving and are having crap years anyway, and because of the contracts we can't trade most of them. Things aren't going to get better.

I think we may have to face up to starting over, which means getting rid of everyone we can for anything we can get, including Buster and Madbum. What else are you going to do? This team is not going to magically get better before everyone's in their late 30s. We don't have much of a farm system these days so we have nothing else to offer.

Also, why do we have so few Latino players? Most of the other teams in the league are built around players from the Dominican (world baseball fountainhead) and other Spanish-speaking, baseball-mad countries these days, and we have almost none. How did that happen?
