Very odd! Cuddyer does not fit at all. I don't think anything will come of this and expect him to end up in Colorado.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reported earlier tonight that at least one unidentified club was in the hunt for free agent Michael Cuddyer. Well, now we know who that might be.
Morosi and Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com are both reporting that the Mariners are now talking to Cuddyer.

Yeah...I don't get this. What would the M's do with a 32 year old player who plays 1B/OF/2B? Are we showing interest as a Plan B to adding someone like Fielder, or this is the type of move designed to field a more veteran team to show Fielder that the teams willing to add some pieces [besides him] in order to contend?

yeah, agreed. at the price that's being thrown around (3/30) and for the production he showed last year in minnesota (.284/.346/20 hr) i'd rather keep smoak at first and carp at dh, assuming we strike out on fielder. i don't see him going yard in safeco 20 times.
