Seattle @ Texas

5-2 M's in the 3rd. We got four off Yu in the 1st inning, and another run in the 2nd. Seager with 3 RBIs. 7 hits thus far.

Noesi ran into trouble in the 1st, but limited the damage. At least in comparison to Yu.

Noesi is putting on a horrible performance. No control and too many hittable pitches. Your team spots you a 4 run cushion and you managed to completely piss it away over 3 innings.

Oh, there goes the ball again...7 runs for Noesi.

And the bleeding has been stemmed! Erasmo Ramirez seems to have pretty good control and seems to be doing a good job of spotting his fastball. I feel like he's keeping the M's in the game but the M's offense has gone dormant once again, and this 3 run deficit seems insurmountable.

M's had a decent chance to tie the game but Smoak came up empty.

Another base hit by Seager! It's early but the M's might have a tough choice to make pretty soon when Carp and Guti come back. Figgins, Seager, and Saunders are all doing pretty well. Who do you end up putting on the bench?

Game #3: Color me thoroughly unimpressed with our offense. The bats have gone cold at the same time, and it's like it's 2011 all over again. We're into 20+ inning without scoring a run.

Smoak/Seager/Montero/Saunders put together a rally to tie it up in the ninth!

And Saunders steals 3rd base! My goodness...

Unreal. And how big is that steal by Saunders?

No kidding. I like his approach at the plate; he won't hit everything but he knows how to take a pitch.

I was happy to see Dave Cameron's article on USSM which calls Wedge out for playing favorites. It makes no sense to bench Ryan one day, and then not give Olivo the same treatment when he shows the same lack of awareness both at the plate and behind it. Oivo's a terrible defensive catcher and he can't get on base. So what's the point?

The team doesn't need three catchers; Olivo is a known quantity. Give the time to Montero/Jaso and use Olivo's roster spot on someone that may matter. And put Carp at DH when he gets back.

Well that was a damned satisfying win! Now get one more and split a series we have no business splitting.
