Okay. Bottom of the 4th. Here come the EXACT GUYS we need to get going:

Seager
Smoak
Ackley
Zunino
Miller

Our young core of hitters.

Let's get it on.

I think Seager's back. He's starting to hit the ball very hard in places no one can get to it.

Hey, nice base hit by Smoak...great start to the inning.

I edited my post before you responded: "Our young core of hitters".

These are the guys. These are the guys that have to collectively hit for us to win.

Alright..4 pitch walk and bases loaded. Let's end this game right here right now!

A grand slam would've been nice but I'll take the sac fly. Nice job, Zunino.

Lewis is struggling with his command, and Miller hacks at one pitch sending a flyball meekly to left field. I don't know where he went off track...he seemed to be in complete command this spring.

We left another run out there that inning. Oh well. We should win this game. Felix is a beast tonight again. Hopefully he'll leave the game and the bullpen with at least a 4 run lead after 7 or 8 innings.

Felix suddenly not hitting his marks on his pitches. He usually gets stronger in these middle innings.

Hmm...

There are some games where I feel genuinely bad for Felix when we lose them. This won't be one of them.

Yup. Our hitters are going to have to win this game for him.

It's weird. It's like he lost his confidence, his command there. I didn't expect that from him, so confident I was of him in that way this year.

F*ck replay. They take forever, and then they get call wrong. F*ck replay.

Did they just do all that 'transfer rule' garbage to show how badly they can **** things up if given the chance? How do you not get that call right after spending the time to review it?

It's f*cking insane! Why can't they get this right? Why do I sit there and watch them get it blatantly wrong time and time again? WTF!

Is this Wilhelmsen's last hurrah? I mean, if he gives it up here, can trust we trust this guy anymore?

If only he could look this good every night. The ump squeezed him, but he still hit his spots and was pretty damn dominant right there.

What a waste of a Felix start by all parties involved...I do not like our chances of getting 3 runs against Soria in the 9th.

What a drag. Back to the drawing board. Just can't regenerate any forward and positive momentum

The thing that's been the most frustrating about this team these past years is that almost all of our young hitters get sucky all at once, and then stay that way for these long and abysmal stretches. I know hitting can become contagious, that it helps to have good hitters batting behind you; but this state of affairs has been ridiculous. Seager has been the only guy (barely) who has somewhat bucked this trend, but certainly not this year. Why do they almost all suck at once like they do? Can't one or two buck this habit, show some life at the plate when the others begin to slump?

You thought that maybe Miller might this year. You thought Seager would at least be a consistent .265 hitter or so. You hoped that Ackley would come to life (he did early this year, but seems to have become tentative and unaggressive again at the plate). Smoak reverts to being sub .250 Smoak. Saunders the same in this way. Zunino can be forgiven being a first full year catcher and hitter. Franklin who showed early promise the middle of last year reverted to this same state of affairs with the rest at the end of last season and again this season when he was called up.

Maybe most all of these guys just aren't anything special as hitters, never will be, and are quite replaceable in that way. Maybe it's just that.

If so, it's clear that Jack Z has to go. He hasn't picked ONE winner at the plate as of yet in all his tenure as GM. Do we want this guy heading up the next amateur draft? I don't think so. His record in this way says he doesn't deserve it.

Oh well.

Another snoozer. M's down 4-0 and Maurer is getting tagged by left-handed hitters.
