I keep thinking that someday the lightbulb will go off in his head: "Hey, I can hit. I'm a great hitter. I know it".

And then take that to the plate for the rest of his ML career.

Pardon me, but I'm going to BITCH now. I am so effing sick of the instant replay in football and baseball. Get rid of it! Because evidently the referees and umpires CANNOT get it right, the letter of the law right. HOW THE EFF could the umpires have CONCLUSIVELY concluded that Cano was out? NO EFFING WAY!!! Absolutely no effing way!!!

I'm going to KILL someone if they don't get this EFFING THING RIGHT!!! It's driving me OUT OF MY MIND!!!

Headed out to grab a quick dinner, came back to see Rodney pitch a rather uneventful 9th inning. Beating Venturo is great, and I don't know how Chris Young does it but his stats are exceptionally impressive. Nice win.

Sweez, I'm going to have a heart-attack if I have to watch one more eff-up of instant replay. PLEASE TELL ME HOW they could have conclusively overturned that call at 2nd base? Why do I have to continually watch the replay rule being abused? The rule IS CLEAR:

--You make the initial call
--It goes to replay under the set conditions of the law
--The initial ruling DOES NOT get reversed unless there is ABSOLUTE CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT THE CALL WAS WRONG

Why do they keep getting this wrong? It's driving me out of my mind.

I missed it completely while I was stuffing sushi into my face. I did hear Lloyd mention it in the press conference and he seemed as flustered as you are. I take it Cano slid into the bag, was called safe, and it was overturned on specious evidence?

Yeah. Thats what happened.

I thought Cano was out, buf didnt think there was enough evidence to prove it. Didnt upset me too much, and overall, im glad there is replay.

I would get rid of instant replay in a second in all sports if I could. For all the talk of righting wrongs, it almost always takes an inordinate amount of time to get through the process, and they inexplicably get it wrong as much as they get it right when you put it in context with the law/rule as it's written. They can't seem to follow the letter of the law in this way, which is quite clear as I presented it.

I'm not a homer about this at all. If I saw the replay and the evidence showed that he was out beyond a reasonable doubt, fine. Then the replay rule was adhered to.

But that's not what happened. And I see this same outcome over and over and over again in both MLB and the NFL, and I can't for the life of me understand why. And even when they do get the call right, it takes far longer than it ever should. If you can't reach a different conclusion than the initial call made on the field in a matter of seconds, then that in and of itself says that it's inconclusive. If you have to look at it over and over again, consult and consult, then it's obviously not worthy of being overturned.

The replay rule was designed to overturn calls/rulings that were egregiously in err. That's the spirit of the law.

Get it right, or get rid of instant replay, IMO.

Something to keep in mind now. If the season ended at this moment, we would be in the playoffs, as we have the 5th best record in the AL, and thus would be 2nd wild card team.

I say this only as a matter of perspective when thinking about our M's. It's not like we're a million miles away from the thought of being a playoff team. We're right there right now 36 games into the season, and, arguably, having gone through one of our most difficult stretches of the year in terms of scheduling.

Anyway...let's see if we can win this series and go 3 games over .500 now.

Go M's.

Some questionable defense from the M's and the bases are loaded with no outs. Elias is doing his job...all three base runners are off soft contact. Two ground balls that Seager probably should've handled.

Oh ****...grand slam Royals. 4-0.

Oh, I think we have a decent shot at that wild card spot if not the division.

Just bad defense all around. Seager's booted a couple ground balls, now Smoak and Zunino are following suit. Elias is battling but the defense has to help him out.

I still think we can win this game if we can just tighten things up from here on out.

Nice day out. Doing work around the house and peeking in on the M's.

I know it's not much, but these AVG's/OBP's are a little better than we've been used to in recent years...

Ackley .257/.325
Zunino .252/.282
Smoak .250/.313
Seager .242/.341 (but it's been climbing in recent weeks)

Now if Miller can get it going a bit more, Saunders add to his recent upswing, Hart continue to get back to his old form...

Like I said, it's not much, but compared to how abysmal we've been at the plate in recent years, it's something to feel a little more hopeful about.

DAMN! Farqurah just didn't have good location today. Oh boy. We've got to come back now. Possible, but feeling a little dubious about it.
