Anyone think the Mavs are doomed after we beat the Spurs and Cavs?

We need to get fully healthy and steal the 7th or 8th seed.
Curry vs Curry.
Bogut's revenge.
Harrison Barnes gets to blast his old team.

Let's go!
Convert municipal and agricultural waste to refined natural gas. Sell the refined natural gas to gas companies. Use the money to provide a monthly basic income to people that earn less than $28,000 a year.

Mavs actually looking like one of the best teams in the NBA right now but no telling if they can stay healthy down the stretch. They actually made Spurs and Cavs look mediocre. I'm not sure we matchup as well with Golden State but who knows?

This is a disaster. What we need to do is lose the majority of the games left and get a top 5 pick.

PIcks are worth a lot more under new CBA and more likely to stay with teams who drafted them, unless Cuban plans on dealing it, winning is hurting us.

Why be 7th or 8th seed and get swept, draft in the teens once again, get nowhere. No one likes losing but we have to go through the motions..the time is now IMO.

Mavs aren't going to tank. Cuban, Carlisle and the players have made that clear. Might as well enjoy some good basketball while they are on a roll.

Yup... it's kind of crazy because it seems so obvious that they are sabotaging themselves. At the same time... if they play like the last two games where you actually saw pretty good basketball.. I suppose we can enjoy that.

For the record: I would trade vets away (Bogut, Deron, maybe even Harris - as long as he was fine with it). I would manage minutes on Matthews. I would make a conscious effort to give Anderson playing time and let him play through mistakes. If after doing all that, the Mavs won games, then so be it. And I am rooting for tanking teams to lose and the 8th seed teams to win.

It's just the nature of the NBA. Hoping to get the 8th seed in this season in particular just doesn't make any sense. We'll be facing a ridiculously stacked team. And we see that so many teams have bad records but they're winning some games, so it's not that hard to play the young guys more and get that top pick. Hell... we've found DFS who looks nice, this Yogi guy who looks nice... they're actually contributing to wins. So play the young guys more. If they win, we'll forgive them, it means the young guys actually are developing.

This is exactly why I said we should really embrace getting better through trade acquisitions, and looking at the silver lining; because the Mavericks organization is not going to comply with tanking, by any measure. Kiss that top 5 pick goodbye.

My grandson and I are already scouting potential games to attend.

Mar. 21 Golden State 8:30

So you can see all the bandwagoners in attendance.

Took both my grandsons to see the Warriors in April 2015. You may remember that game as the one when Shaun Livingston decided punching Dirk in the family jewels was a good idea.

That's not even a question. The Mavs have no shot.

Bulls***.
You have no clue if GSW will stay healthy or not nor do you know if Dallas will be healthy going into the playoffs should they squeak into that 8th seed. A late season injury could change things in a heartbeat.

It would still be extremely unlikely. Stop kidding yourself.

Thats what I originally said. I agree. Highly unlikely and a very small chance.

I think we'd need Durant and Curry to both be out to have a chance. I respect your optimism but there's little enthusiasm over facing the Warriors. If the Mavs make the playoffs I'll try to enjoy it as much as I can, but it's not something I am looking forward to right now.

How many games are we from the 8th seed?

2.5 right now. And we play Portland, currently in the 8th spot, twice coming up soon.

Any team could get an devastating injury before the playoffs.

Ask the Raiders and Dolphins.

Unfortunately, the way the Warriors are constructed, and as someone else said, both Durant and Curry would need to be out to compete.

Side note: Yogi Ferrell is impressive so far. He's fearless, and can shoot and disrupt defensively.
