When we lose Round 1 you have to get rid of Kidd.
You have to show Luka and Kyrie that you are willing to make changes.
With the new owners I think this would be done.

Trade THJ for finely smith next year. Hopefully BRK has come to their senses and would like the cap relief?

Gafford / Lively / Powell
Washington / Jones/ Maxi
Finnely-Smith / Prosper
Kyrie / Green / Hardy
Luka / Exum

Our defense and ability to switch and corner 3 point shooter will get better.

If you really watch the Mavs play ,its obvious the Mave are bigger ,have more length, and younger . For years I wanted players Luka's age to replace Finney Smith ,Kleber,Hardaway Jr,Powell, etc and now they went out and got PJ Washington & Gafford both 25 yrs old like Luka.
Mavs are happy with DLive BUT they also seem to have struck gold with OMax as well. He's 6'7"/230 #s .He needs the minutes next year.
Its Hardy THJ,Kleber,Powell that need to be moved this summer. Some players that would look in a Mavs uniform ..... Alexsej Pokusevski 7'0"/220 #,22 y o ....Bol Bol 7'3"/220# 24 y o .....Patrick Baldwin 6'9"/220# 21 y o ..... all young players and tall which the Mavs need most.

This off-season I would like for us to pursue Klay Thompson before other contenders do.

Pretty much the way I see it too.
I 've been a Poku fan and think he would be a decent rotation player some day.
I'm hoping Prosper becomes that 5th starter and can provide some offense.
Luka/Irving/PJ/Prosper/Gafford could really be special next season.

I would include Green in trade talks because we'll need another scorer off the bench and he would hopefully still have some suitors.

My dream offseason would be:
Dump THJ using TOR 2nd.
Sign Bruce Brown for the MLE
Sign DJJ for the BAE with promise of bigger deal next year (Batum/Portis situation)
Trade Josh Green and Powell + 25 1st for Sexton.
Luka/Exum
Kyrie/Sexton/Hardy
DJJ/Bruce Brown
PJ/Maxi/OMax
Gafford/Lively/Morris
3 scorers + Hardy
4 small wings - DJJ/Brown/Exum
3 big wings - PJ/Maxi/OMax
2 roll men
Morris for veteran leadership.

I'm ok with Poku, Bol Bol ecc ecc at vet min.
Low risk high reward moves.
No really hopes on them though. Too skinny, injury prones and inconsistent.

But we need a Bruce Bowen guy, if you really watched (   ) Denver play last season it's obvious that he was their X-Factor from the bench.
This season they have noone on the bench, if their season will not be a B2B probably his absence will be the reason.

We need to move on from THJ this off-season. His poor shooting needs to go.

I'm more scared of his father than the shooting percentage honestly...

If we can do this, it's major success of this entire summer.

I still have no idea how his father became a hall of famer. I watched his entire career.

A three point shooter will need to be added and Klay fulfills needs. What don't you like?

Was thinking Exum a genius sign even if he could only play half of regular season but available for playoffs, but dude's playoffs performance is insufferably bad.

Bruce Bowen is exactly what we need.
If only he were 20 years younger :)

Jonathan Isaac or Andrew Wiggins or Jaden McDaniel to be exact. Alex Caruso, though, a bit old is also interesting.

Kidd, Hardaway, Kleber, Powell, Green, Hardy, OMax are somewhat available for trades.

At least, you get someone guard Luka well every practice. I also think Derrick Jones could be back next season. DJJ completely outperformed Exum in the playoff. Lively also somehow gets a moderate playoff veteran standard. I am a bit disappointed about Green, who's all the tools to become exactly what the Mavs needs. Maxi is no longer a post presence. I do like the attitude but the Mavs needs a replacement long-term. Hopefully, Washington could take a bit more minutes for Maxi.
