Luka has stats that compete with any other player in the NBA for MVP but will lose out to Jokic because Nuggets are winning more games than Luka's team and also finish behind Shai Gilgeous Alexander.
Neither team OKC and Denver have 3 PG's like the Mavs but they move the ball alot more in their offense and win games by it.

Again, Mavs have better offensive rtg than Denver and a little worse than OKC. Problem is that OKC has 4th defensive rtg, Denver 10th and Mavs 22nd. Maybe Denver should move the ball less? ;) Luka and Kyrie are great Iso players, that's the reason for low assists. I kinda doubt that we want THJ&co. taking Luka's and Kyrie's shots.

All top teams in Nba have top 10 D. Mavs would be top 5 team easily with just an average D.

I'll never understand WHY is it so hard for some people to understand what's the real issue with Mavs. It absolutely blows my mind. It's like those media people who never watch Mavs and they hear it from 1 source then just repeat the same thing over and over again.

I'm always thinking, dude do you have your own eyes, how can you watch this game and think offense is why Mavs are losing?

If they shoot 40% from the floor as a team and both Kyrie/Luka are horrible, yeah, blame the offense, Luka will be the first guy in press after the media blaming himself, but how can you check those stats and see the extreme difference in defensive stops then go out and say "Yo, move the ball better and Mavs will win".

Also, to poster above, Kidd is not Malone, Nuggets have sets where people cut to the basket with motion offense, set off ball screens, etc... Where do you see that with Mavs?

And just to further clarify, during the 7 win streak, at that time, Mavs had 3rd best defense and Nr1 rated offense tied with Celtics. During losing streak they had dead last defense and 8th best offense. And there are still 3 or 4 posters here + Charles Barkley who think not moving the ball enough is the real problem? Guys, just do the simple math, it's not that hard. :banghead:

All easily seen ..... thats why I dont count on Mavs defense to win them a championship ,I thnk they have to outscore all other teams and I think they can get to the Championship of the Western Conference but I think Denver plays bigger and can beat the Mavs in a shootout.

DJJ over Green in starting lineup looks quite better. Just wish DJJ wasn't missing so many dunks. These big lineups work great with Luka.

Green should play no more than 15 mins per game.

plus/minus between offensive and defensive
Gafford 141 ..... 109.8 +31.2
Lively 138.6 ... 114.3 +24.3
Exum 133.4 ....119.4 +14
Luka ..... 123.4 ...118.5 +4.9
Kyrie .....121.2 ...117.9 +3.3
DJJ ....... 117.3 ...118 - .7
Green ....117.3 ... 119.4 - 2.1
Maxi ...... 111.3 ... 118.5 - 7.2
THJ ....... 110.4 ....120.9 -10.5
PJ ..........107.1 ....117.6 -10.5
Hardy ..... 105 ......120 -15

Our big boys are killing it ,a clear case of retiring Maxi from any Center minutes

Amazing defense and hustle from Green and a 3pt make. Both have been great in 1st Q :P

So far so good....the only thing that was kind of irritating was when Luka complained after a no call...I'll never understand how a smart guy like Luka doesn't understand that moping about no calls will get you nowhere, actually it might hurt you(they'll call even less)

Missed the 1st quarter but man what a start.

But check out this stat. Up 21 and the only player with a negative +/- is THJ with -7 in just 3 minutes. :banghead:

He stopped playmaking after the all star break, he was such a good passer... now he's usually just chucking.

Our two center are really good enough. Maxi should never be used as center again.
