Age when they won their first championship
Michael Jordan: 28
Lebron James: 27
Steph Curry: 26

Unfortunately that does not mean Luka will win one by any of those ages. Every player needs the right situation right team right coach to win a championship and Luka hasn't and currently doesn't have any of that. He has taken too much criticism for not doing it by now when none of those players did either. He hasn't had a championship roster, all 3 of them didn't win until they did. That's not saying Luka is better or equal to any of them but he is overcriticized.

It's the chicken vs. the egg. You won't get those 20PPG players willing to come over and just agree to become role players or corner spot up shooters for Luka. That means you agree to become a role player your whole life and leave dollars on the table. That's why it's a challenge to bring those types of players in. Houston Rockets James Harden had an old CP3 come in willing to be a spot up shooter, Luka had an old Kyrie via trade willing to play the Robin. Adding a 20PPG star means said star just wants to shoot spot up 3 pointers in the Luka system which is hard to find. You're essentially committing to being a role player your whole life. That's a hard sell no matter how much you flip the narrative. Not a lot of players will just agree to be role players, especially for a European kid.

The best case scenario for Dallas (as the team) is to ride this one out and get high level role players with what assets they have. The best case for Luka (as a player) is to join an established team that way he just becomes the cherry on top. It would tarnish his legacy like Lebron, but he does get to position himself to win rings. Can't have it all perfectly, but that's what I see.

Any fan who's been around at least since the championship should know by now we're not getting a big free agent in free agency. We just never do. Before and after the championship the Mavs operate on trades. There's already been half a dozen opportunities for stars to come play with Luka, and they had more than enough opportunities to play with Dirk and they turned it down. Even the Mavs Braintrust gave up on the idea. Then you're talking about saving assets well then impressing a player doesn't matter, they are being traded they have no choice.

Luka can not make a player who's not a 20 ppg scorer into one, no one can. You either are or you aren't.

From what I heard both he and Kyrie are told by Kidd to control the ball. Maybe with a new coach this would change.
