New Name Next Season?

Post#1 » by TheCage4 » Tue May 1, 2007 6:41 pm

According to WireTap we have to submit our new team name to MLB by May 31st, but it won't be revealed until after the season.

Any ideas who we will be next year?

Very original. I was wondering how does it feel to have the highest payroll in sports & be a 9-14 team? Just curious.

Why the name change? What's wrong with devilrays? Is it the Devil part?

as a mets fan, I kind of like the devilrays - though I wish you'd give us Kazmir back.
Uh oh. Somebody needs to call Rick Carlisle a whaaambulance.

I remember hearing a while back that it was the "Devil" in our name that the new owners want to get away from. I think it's kind of ridiculous. What's in a name really?

I read that one option is to just make it Rays, & either keep the relation to the sea creature or change it to the sun. I think the most likely choice is the Tampa Bay Tarpons.

Leave the name alone.

It's going to end up being the Rays.

Return to Tampa Bay Rays
