Would Rangers sign bonds to DH

Post#1 » by catalyst » Tue Feb 26, 2008 2:49 pm

I think musers talked me into this.

POSITIVE
He might not cost that much
He could bat against RHs and LHs.
He would drive up the pitch count with his great eyes for pitches
He gets on base a ton still at 44
He would have led the rangers in HRs

NEGS
He is an a-hole of the highest order and only cares about himself
That whole Steroid thingy
he has missed many games over the past few years

Thoughts?

i was for signing him last year, criticism be damned people hate this team regardless so why not add one of the (still) best hitters in the game.

I doubt Barry steps on the field unless he receives a nice fat check. I don't see him playing for anything under 10 million and that might even be cutting it short.

It would be beneficial to the ownerships pockets to sign Barry Bonds. He's also, if not the best contact hitter, so our offense can still benefit from his services. It's worth signing him to a one year deal.
