Tom Hicks on the Rangers / Stars

"All of these teams have become businesses in the past 20 years," Hicks said. " ... This business has to do with fan affinity and brand devotion. It doesn't necessarily have to do with winning."

oh, so thats why we can't win.

what owner in their right mind would say that? I'm pretty sure some winning over the last 20 years would have helped our fan affinity situation out a little bit. that is confirmation that he is an idiot.

He must be getting his advice from a Cubs fan.

more fun stuff from Tom Hicks dfw.com :

"There's no way either of my two teams' fans have the level of intense passion that Liverpool has,"

"I want them to. Hopefully, someday they will."

Has he ever heard of Liverpool or is it just a business investment? 18 English League titles!! 5 European Cup titles! Most by any team in England!

Rangers = 0 titles Stars = 1

The main difference, Liverpool FC has been around for 100 + years and fans have a "willing to die for their team" attitude.

I wish there was a way to force Tom Hicks to sell both franchises. Maybe when Bush leaves office, he buys the Rangers.

Our fans are hopefully getting tired of the lack of effort from the franchise and our brand is and always has been crap
