i wish, i wish, i wish... we had darrin fletcher.

edit: and i hope zaun lands himself as the colour commentator job next season and let tabby chill with campbell.

i don't know.. I think Zaun and Jamie have good chemistry.. they're even good buddies off the air, i'm sure that helps

I actually didn't mind Jamie Campbell. The way he called the Olympics made me like him even more.

I don't mind Buck or Tabler, tbh.. I am just glad Jamie and Rance aren't calling games anymore...

I used to like Sam Cosentino. He gave you nuggets that were infinitely more interesting than the usual banter between the announcers (i.e., he'd actually show you the change a player had made to the way he gripped a changeup).

I like Buck a lot. I thought he'd be the colour guy but I'm ok with him in the PBP role.

Tabler is absolutely fine, though unspectacular. When he actually speaks of his mindframe when he used to play, he actually becomes better than most (i.e., How much he'd pay attention to the runner on first while at bat. What he was looking for at the plate in certain situations, etc.).

I don't think Zaun is as great as some make him out to be. 90% of what he says is really tired cliches. The rest is great but I'm not a fan of sifting through through all of that junk to get to it.

Lol, I can't stand Buck's nasally voice. Other than that, everything's cool.

Tabler is okay but I wish Fletcher had his job, he was always great.

Zaun is good.

Dont like Zaun but the rest are ok. The radio guys are both really good.

Interesting that for 3 major sports we have guys who have had national tv experience. Joe Bowen did some CBC games I believe and used to work for TSN. Matt Devlin does work for TNT and Buck calls game for Fox.

I don't mind any of those guys. I used to be annoyed with Buck, but he has grown on me quite a bit. I still can't pronounce the way he says Encarnacion...

I enjoyed listening to Joe Carter...I remember him doing colour for the Jays and Cubs games. I liked his delivery and sounded like he was a real fan of the game. With his ties with the team and the city, I'd try to get him aboard.

Ashby is by far the best analyst the Jays have ever had. He actually tells you what he thinks.

Buck and Tabler are Blue Jays employees first, broadcasters second. They never say anything negative about the Jays. Remember Rogers owns Sportsnet, it's a propaganda machine. Ashby is paid by the Jays too but he isn't afraid to question Farell's strategy when it's warranted.

Another thing that annoys me about Buck and Tabler is that they never ever disagree with each other. Would it kill them to say, once in a while, something like "I understand why you think they should bunt in this situation, but I wouldn't and here's why..."?

Buck's speech impediment can be distracting too - Alex Rod-ree-gish is a future hall of famer, Jason Fray-sher is a middle releiver, Encarnash-ee - own lost a lot of weight this off-season, etc...

I thought Tabler had the speech impediment...with the way he struggles to get some words out

Like he's talking with marbles in his mouth...

And Rance sounds like Ned Flanders...

Tabler is solid, has great advice for young players, and has a different outlook on analysis.

Really? I thought Carter was horrendous. The way he talks, it always sounded like he was making up words on the fly.

Don't mind Tabler and Buck it was better than the Rance and Jamie combo. At least Buck isn't butchering every third name and not correcting himself this year like he was last year. I can't stand Zaun I hate him as a player and broadcaster.

Buck's voice is too nasally for me. Broadcasts are decent. Their promos are top notch.

Carter was horrendous...and whoever hired him should have been fired for it

He sounded like he was trying to be too "corporate-friendly"

Jarome Iginla and Tiger Woods do the same thing

As does this guy...

I missed most of the weekend games but why is Ashby doing the broadcasts now? I can't stand the guy

To me he's so much better than Tabler.

Ashby will actually criticize. Tabler would have never done so after Molina's laziness in the 4th.

Instead, I think Buck & Tabler Duo would have changed the subject by saying how good Molina has been behind the plate all season long calming down young pitchers.
