How is JBJ not being pinch hit for here? Why is he being asked to bunt? He can't do it.

Probably value keeping his defense in the game over the plate appearance.

Let’s not bunt, tho. Especially with 2 strikes…

I can't get over how bad our last two managers have been at understanding basic baseball concepts. How do they get these jobs?

I'd rather play for the extra run myself instead of whatever the hell that was.

Not sure why Merrifield was not pinch hit for JBJ, with the Lefty on the mound. Missed opportunity by Schneider.

Given how many outfielders we have on the roster, you might be right.

Like, isn't that Zimmer's entire purpose on this roster (if he has a purpose), to come in late in games after better hitters pinch hit for players?

So stupid to pull Strip.

Would you pull Manoah? Gausman? Even Berios??

These are the moves/disrespect/stupidity that will push him to leave us next year... and compound losses over the next few games by starting to tax the bullpen.

Why aren't we using Garcia over Cimber here against Jung? We're just asking for a loss.

So much drama!!! In just 2/3 of an inning!!!!

Strip had the lid on this. Strip was protecting the bullpen. Strip was just getting warm. Strip was pitching for a win.

Oh. well. It's out of his hands now. We'll see 5 pitchers tonight.

I’m not sure it’s about disrespecting him. Perhaps they’re just really conservative with his pitch count for whatever reason.

They generally don't like letting Stripling going three times through the order and the three consecutive hard hit balls to end the inning didn't probably encourage them to do it there.

If pitch counts matter for pulling a guy, they should also matter for leaving a guy in. I'm sure Ross doesn't know why he was pulled with a lead after only 67 pitches, except for the fact that he's the "4th" or "5th" starter. :nonono:

I don't like the way this game is trending.
