Gotta love how our manager barely argues a clear strikeout call in the biggest spot in the game to get Mountcastle a walk. Such passion and fight for his team.

imo-The balls are going too fast ,and moving to much for the umpires to determine K or Ball.
Maybe they should wear something that could make it easier for them to make the right pitch calls.

Like, hang an iPad in front of their face with Gameday on it?

I agree that the job of home-plate ump is much harder than ever because of the velocity and movement of pitches...in the same PA that he blew strike three on Mountcastle, he also called a strike that was a good three inches too low. But that's why it's time to just give in and put the tech in control, because it's clearly beyond the ability of humans to get consistently right.

Don't know if I've ever seen a game end on a pickoff.

Yusei is our ace.

Getting picked off when you are down 3 in the ninth is some of the worst baserunning as I have ever seen. And we have seen some bad baserunning with our own team here.

There was actually one last night as crazy as that sounds (it was the catcher to first version though)
Also one game that ended last night with a balk.

Wild stuff.

That was certainly one of the games in Jays history.

The Orioles committed two errors, put five guys on base in a row via walks/HBPs, and the game inexplicably ended on a pickoff of what wasn't even the tying run. Something to remember the next time people go into True Contenders Don't Do ______ mode. You play 162 games, you're going to do a lot of dumb **** along the way.

We’re winning by default tonight. Only reason we’re leading 4-1 is because Fujinami allowed 2 back to back walks that loaded the bases for us. And he threw two wild pitches that hit Chapman and Jansen that helped to drive home two runs. Then the last run we scored was because Mateo made an error at SS, he couldn’t catch and grab the ball and then couldn’t make a throw to get the out. Tonight we can’t hit and get on bases the old fashioned way and we can’t produce runs in bunches. We scored 3/4 of our runs tonight on bases loaded walks, errors, and hit by pitches. We scored our last 3 runs without even hitting.

Kikuchi has been solid tonight though. Full credit to him.

The only way for this team to get 4 runs is when the opposition handed them the game. You take it when you can, since a win is a win.

That was weird and wonderful, and the result we needed. Lets get the split tomorrow.

We scored 4+ runs 18 times in July. We were held below 4 runs on 6 occasions. We're fortunate to be a team whose opposition hands us the game approximately 75% of the time.

I mean, we only actually scored 1 run with a hit. The Orioles walked in the next 3. We definitely tried our best to lose this one, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Let’s leave the fake win **** on the Raptors board.
