I would be down for sending out Litsch and keeping Mills/Repz up.

Who is this guy btw? good prospect? don't know anything about him.

If it's for just Litsch or Mills, Ed Wade should be fired on the spot. Actually, that should've happened when he traded Luke Scott + a bunch of Tejada. Or when he gave $15m to Brandon Lyon.

My money is on Zip.

^^

I read that he was the best prospect in the Oswalt deal, and the Jays really wanted him in the Halladay deal as well.

But for whooooooooooooo.

How ironic that the guy I trashed is now coming to the Jays.

I dont do Rzep for Gose. No thanks.

I like it.

But I'd like it a lot less if they were trading Rzep.

Hmmm, I hope the Jays didn't give up much to get him. He seems to fit into the AA and Gillick mold of speedy/athletic CF and he is still very young with some potential, but his career SB percentage so far is a shade over 70% (almost negates his SB ability to begin with) and his poor BB/K mixed with lack of power don't exactly fill me with excitement. AA seems to like him a lot though, and AA's talent eye looks pretty good so far.

I will wait until I see who AA gave up before passing judgement, but I'm not a huge Gose fan, tbh.

asked john lott on twitter:

@Throwback07 No official confirmation on Gose, but doubt they'd deal Zep or Mills

19 year old CF in high-A, blazing speed but piss-poor instincts on the basepaths, some as-yet-unrealized power potential, meh patience and a high strikeout rate. He's your quintessential pure-projection player...right now he's a mess (60% of his balls in play are on the ground, which is unheard of) and there's probably an 8 in 10 chance that he flames out, but the ceiling is such that it's worth the risk if the cost is low.

I'm with the crowd, though; I wouldn't be furious if we traded Zip for him, but I definitely wouldn't like it. It's just that I can't think of anyone else that would entice the Astros into making this deal...if it's Mills, I'm going to laugh myself into a coma.

Gose = Plus arm, plus defense in CF, plus speed. Offense needs a ton of work. High upside, huge risk.

Seems strange. If the Jays really liked this guy, why not get him in the Halladay deal?

Hopefully, it's not Rzep going back the other way.

I don't think its Zep at all, i think the organization is very high on that guy and Cito who people say doesn't like pitchers absolutely loves him, not that it would mean much. Hoping its Mills

Because we got three superior prospects, really.

Because they liked d'Arnaud more, and Philly wasn't going to give us Gose on top of the other 3 we got. IIRC, Philly wanted us to take Gose instead of d'Arnaud, but we held our ground.
