A better outcome for Jon Harris today - a walk, two hits, no runs and 4K in four innings.

Francisco Rios with another solid start. 6IP, 5H, 3R, 1ER, 0BB, 1HBP, 5K. LDidn't give up a hit until he gave up a pair of singles in the fifth, then fought out of that without further damage. In the sixth, he gave up a three spot off a combination of singles, errors and a steal of home. Threw 59 strikes in 82 pitches, and was at 55-45 after four.

Perdomo with another strong start.
5.0-3H-0ER-2BB-7K

BB rate/9 on season of 3.57 is encouraging.

Rios has 7 strikeouts through 3 innings (and zero hits) so far tonight:

Rios was 94-95 in the first. Threw a couple sliders. Hissey setting up on the outer half on just about everything.

Second start I've noticed Hissey setting up on the outer half for Rios. I'm guessing they're working on FB location low and away with him.

Rios just dropped a nasty CB. Good two plane break.

If you can't tell, I love this kid. He's my favorite of the arms in Lansing this season.

New Hampshire doesn't have many nights with this much offence: So far, Rowdy Tellez is 3-4 with a homer, double and two RBIs, and Roeman Fields is 4-4 with his 12th stolen base. NH leads 8-1.

Ughh...that's dissapointing. Was really looking forward to seeing Hollon come back and flourish.

The Red Sox are under investigation by MLB for so-called package signings of international players. Though not necessarily against the rules, the practice seems to have caught MLB's attention because of media reports of players possibly sharing bonuses to allow the Red Sox to get higher rated players than the $300,000 per signing limit would have allowed them. One player worth less than $300,000 gets that amount and "gives" some of his money to a highly rated player signing for only $300,000 when others would have given him more. Or at least that's what I inferred from the article.

Update - Rios, roughed up a bit, Pentecost shot the first pitch he saw into right field for an RBI single.

Update - Rios, roughed up a bit, but made it through five innings giving up 3ER, 8H and striking out 6.

Pentecost shot the first pitch he saw into right field for an RBI single, then hit a solo homer in the third.

Jon Harris extended his scoreless innings streak to 19 (?) with five shutout innings, two hits, two walks, two strikeouts.

Update 2: Pentecost finished with three hits in four trips. Angel Perdomo came on in relief of Harris and struck out 7 in four hitless shutout innings. Gave up one walk.
