He's been saying this since March. But it's not a sure thing, and it's not necessarily advisable. He needs the equivalent of a full spring training, and come September, it will be hard to get him starts since every game in quest of a wildcard berth will be important. There are no minor league teams in September where you can send him to rehab.

Will Donaldson continue to salute Stroman on every homer when he returns?

Either way, not sure how realistic this is. He *may* be ready to throw in September, but not ready to face major league caliber hitters. With the minor league season ending, where can you get him some relief work at a high enough level to return? No way the Jays can put him out there as a starter at this point no matter how desperate we are.

Maybe we can let him rehab with the Phillies!

I did some research on this back in the spring, and other pitchers with the same (freak) injury on the same leg did make it back earlier than you might think. I said September at that time. I assume he's kept his arm in shape.

I've been staying away from the Jays board ever since the Stroman injury (and AA's refusal to replace him) and not following games at all, on the theory that I might have been the curse that clearly befell the Jays. I was following them back in 92-93, so it's probably not me, but you can't be too careful with curses. Everyone is suspect.

Hopefully it was a Tulo curse, commencing when JP passed on him in the draft. Now it's lifted. That sounds plausible.

The good thing is that it wasn't an arm injury.

Stroman will be the Jays' K-Rod.

Hawkins, Sanchez, Stroman, Osuna..... solid pieces for a strong bullpen. Still work to be done though.

Also its reported that JAYS are looking at #3 SP type pitchers as opposed to an ace. Which i agree with. With the JAYS offense, all u really need are guy that can keep u in it. If everyone could pitch like Burhle or Estrada, Jays will be fine.

If Stroman somehow comes back and is the difference maker, now that we have Price on board...could be a fun September!

Graduates in less than 2 weeks. Would need some rehab games after that.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
