What a pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting a win today.

The Yankees have fallen off so quickly. Did anyone see this coming? I sure hell didn't. wow.. baseball is such a funny sport. lol.

I saw the highlights only. Did Benitendi look lacksidasical on both the JBJ and Kirk double? Looks like he could have made both plays but didnt.

About the only concerning thing today, besides Hernandez’s foot, was Jansen doing a Bradley Zimmer imitation at the plate. He looks lost.

johanliebert was right. It is the nerds who manage the team.

Maddon said he definitely wouldn’t take a job as what he calls “a middle manager,” where the general manager and staff make the bulk of the decisions for the field manager to carry out, a “prominent” setup around the game.

After the first game of this series, it felt to me like a sweep was very possible. The Yankees look dead.

Since Espinal cut down his between game workouts he has been better.Vladdy found out about his workout, and told him it was too hard, and he should quit or cut it down.

Suspected for a long time on this board. It explains why Montoyo was here for so long and why Schneider will probably get the permanent job if he stays in line.

My biggest complaint with Shatkins.

He is batting .217 now. Wish Springer was not a part-time player. Love him as a player, but he is fragile as they come. Something always bothers him every year since his Houston days. Could be an elbow, knee, quad or oblique. You name it.

Biggio has the better OBP between the two, and is 80 points of OPS better than Espinal against RHP on the year. Santi is hitting .250/.294/.313 over the past two months, which is really bad.

I'm still not entirely sure how Espinal made the all-star game. I like Espinal as a semi-regular player, but you know it's a weak field when he makes the all-star game.

His defense as well.

I don't get it. I mean Paul O'Neill was a good (maybe great) baseball player, but is he really "Nobody can ever wear this number again for the Yankees" good?

He was a first ballot eliminated HoF candidate. If that's the mark the Yankees have going forward for retiring numbers, they're eventually not going to have enough numbers left to fill a roster.

Lourdes is such an idiot. Another run cost because of his defense. Can't wait until they trade this guy.
