Had nothing to do with the play at the plate.

Tabler made a good point he couldn't even get into foul territory because of the other runner getting there first

Absolutely horrific call in that spot. One of the best pitchers in the league is rolling, commanding everything, throws a perfect strike, and you completely miss it?

Hope it doesn't affect the game beyond a few pitches but Mountcastle is up.

What MLB described isn't the way the rule reads at all as I noted last night. They're just covering their ass for a stupid rule that is now being interpreted in ridiculous ways.

Now it all makes sense. So according to the rule when waiting to receive a throw from an outfielder or infielder in an attempt to prevent a run,the catcher must never stand in an area that would prevent the runner from scoring at any time during that play.Thats very sensible mlb.I,m sure every catcher will remember to do that. :banghead:

I feel an early pull of Manoah and Mayza entering the game is coming.

That's gotta be a HR for Merrifield in every other park in the league. Tough break for him and us.

94 pitches through 8. He better start the 9th.

Disgraceful what baseball has become to not let him try to complete this.

True. But we need Manoah down the stretch, and this is the most innings he’s ever pitched in a season, so it might be wise to play it safe.

Watching Manoah pitch makes me forget how hard pitching actually is.

Three run game tho, Romano hasn’t pitched all series, and we have an off day tomorrow. So it’s a safe, low risk move.

Romano is owed every save opportunity. Because he runs them/thy don't run him? Seems like it.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
