Jays can be 4.5 behind NYY tonight. As frustrating as the jays have been this year offensively...the yankees are worse

Yankees losing tonight!

I predict if we got 18-0 for the rest of the season, we take the division!

(In the real world, I do think there’s a small chance.
However, I’m also not quite sure what Buck is thinking that playing the Pirates and finishing with 4 games against the Rangers is a particularly onerous schedule for the Yanks)
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

And yet they’re first in the AL in runs, and we’re second. Imagine how the other teams must feel?

Absolutely. Because 15 games is the same thing as 80 games.

If Bo had anything like a .063 slg percentage over 80 games, you might have a point. But as you’ve been told a bazillion times, Bo was actually an above average hitter from the start of May to the start of September. He literally only had a bad April.

Juan Soto is one of the best hitters of this generation, he was traded for the largest prospect haul in history. The Padres are in a playoff race and desperately need this guy. Yet he’s slumping like that. Bo is not as good a hitter as Juan Soto, Vladdy is not as good a hitter as Juan Soto. And you certainly can’t say the guy can’t handle the spotlight of a playoff race after what he did in the 2019 postseason. It’s just baseball.

Also, Bo has an fWAR of 4.4 to Soto’s 3.0.

I don't know how many times I need to say it. And I don't know why you keep bringing this topic up.

For 3 straight months, our #2 hitter had an OBP of .310 and was pretty much an offensive black hole aside from a couple mistake-pitch homers here and there.

Juan Soto has one month this year with an OPS below .772. Bichette has 4, including 3 straight (June, July, August). No one is disputing that Bichette had a hot May, and is having a stellar September. The issue is that he was mediocre at best for very long stretches, which I argue is unacceptable performance from one of our supposed best players. You disagree. I get it. Can we move on now?
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

From on pace to win 125 games (lmao) to having the 5th best record in MLB now (a game away from 6th). You love to see it.

Few things bring me more joy than reading the Yankees and Red Sox subreddits as their teams melt down.

Yankees are the definition of peaking too early.

why does manoah look like hes about to have a heart attack? dude needs to drop some weight. Look at this jersey, soaked through in the first inning.

Bad umpiring at a bad time. That was both a called strike and a swinging strike, only to be a walk in front of Adley who is on fire right now. Should cost the Jays a run here.

Manoah looking very hittable today. Hope our bats are able to put some runs on the board today.

Walk Henderson to face Aguilar. Manoah's splits are massive and this rookie is a very good hitter.
