This front office clearly values defense and pitching over offense. Barger and Martinez are not here because they don't have a position yet and they paid IKF to babysit where they could play until they made it impossible to keep them down. I was hoping that would happen in the spring but they both sucked.

I felt part of the reason they didn't go out and get anyone significant at third was for this very reason. Yes, we need their offense, but the front office has to be comfortable with their defense, and keeping them down a little longer to cook gives them that practice.

I have been waiting for two years for this--both prospects looked ready last year in spring training, but Barger got hurt and Martinez was striking out too much. So, I hope the move comes soon. To be fair, IKF, Clement and Schneider have done a decent to good job--but they are the ones who will be replaced. I doubt they move Springer until the off season.

Manoah pitching well tonight (so far through 3 innings). Maybe he takes that next Rodrigues start??
