Davis doesn’t swing at ball1

Could have walked in a run and preserved the valuable out

Davis also actually has a shot at elevating at Clay Holmes pitch.

Yeah, maybe next time try to take some pitches on Gerrit Cole and get him out of the game before the 9th.

Embarrassing game from the offense again after being solid 2 games in a row. Hopefully Vlad is good we need him. Of course we have to go to that he'll hole called the Trop.

That was truly bizarre PHing from our manager. Even if you wanted to get Vladdy into the game, why for Schneider? Let Schneider hit, and then have Vlad PH for Chapman, who's been having a much rougher time of things.

Oh well. 9 more to go. Onto Tampa.

PH for Davis Schneider when we needed a HR is just baffling. The guy has 8 HRs in 31 games.

The whole team just looked so weak tonight. No belief that they could ever handle Gerrit Cole. Totally psyched out. Bunch of pathetic lemmings. The game was over before it began.

To be fair, that’s sort of how they look every game though.

I’ve had as many issues with the managing decisions as the next person, but pinch hitting vlad there was a perfectly fine decision (assuming no major risk that it was going to make his knee worse, which none of us really know)

Schneider has crashed back to earth after the hot start

Last 7 days: 0/20 1 BB; .000 BA; .100 OBP; .000 SLG; .100 OPS
Last 14 days: 5/48 5 BB; .119 BA; .229 OBP; .262 SLG; .491 OPS

Yes, it’s a small sample size, but so was his hot streak. Watching him has been fun and he definitely helped win some important games, but the amount he is over valued right by fans right now is crazy. If that was anyone else up in that spot with those stats over the past 2 weeks and a very minimal track record in the majors, there would be 0 questioning why he was pinch hit for

For this weekend, I think we’ve got to be rooting for Texas? I guess it depends who wins game 1, because Texas or Seattle winning 5 or 6 of the 7 games they have vs going 4-3 is ideal (that obviously decreases the jays magic number, plus as a side bonus makes it more likely we’d get the 3rd WC instead of 2nd). With seattles other 3 games being against Houston, Texas winning 5 or more of the Seattle games would put the jays in a really good spot

That game was out of reach. The decisions at the end were fine. That loss isn't on Schneider. It's on the **** offence. This team can't do anything against good pitching (or even bad pitching, most nights).

We had the tying run at the plate a couple times. It was out of reach right up until it wasn't.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Davis benched for Espinal in the biggest game of the season tonight. Sounds about right.

We want Texas to absolutely destroy Seattle. Probably the only way this team is getting in because I fully expect the Rays to do the same to us.

We need to go 6-3 over these last 9 games to get into the playoffs. 5-4 and we'll need some help from Texas or Seattle to get in. 4-5 wed need one of Texas or Seattle to destroy the other in their 7 game sting. 3-6 and we're not getting in.
