He is out. IKF will be the starting 3B. IKF is a great defender. Unfortunately our offence continues to decline.

Praying for a breakout for one of or both of Orelvis and Barger.

Yeah,
Moving from Aramark to Legends should have a pretty solid impact on the in stadium experience.

Orelvis will not hit above the mendoza line at the MLB level next year (look at that K% and swing). Praying for Barger to be ready is not a plan

Orelvis has made some good strides last year. He was able to cut his strikeout rate and increase his walk rate from the previous year.

In spring he has 3 walks and only 1 so.

Orelvis K% had improved from 28.5% 20.5% at AA which is a good sign, and then at AAA went back to 26.8% for 246PA (statistically significant at 150PA). He might eventually get it down to 25% in the show but not this year, his age 22 season.

You are quoting the outcome of a few PA's to judge his current talent level.

I was quoting because it looked like you wrote that after his first SO of spring.

Regardless, I see Orelvis as being able to get down to 20% in the long run. Yes, it will take time. His walk rate also substantially improved which is a very good sign. If he can hit HRs at a similar rate to what he did last year I'd be will live with a 30% k rate because our offence is so anemic.

Soto is going to be a Jays killer. Another HR tonight.

Well, looks like the Jays will be getting an extra draft pick after the 4th round. Giants signing Chappy to a 3/54, with player options each year.

Great news. Chapman killed this team last year and the Jays (and seemingly the rest of the league) noticed that.

I had read a couple of months ago that the Jays had offered Chapman a 100 million dollar contract on a 4 or 5 year deal (cannot remember the years). I am so happy he decided not to take it. Chapman was atrocious with the Bat after the first 6 weeks, and even his Defense was not as elite like it was in Oakland. Great Addition by Subtraction.

We can't have multiple crappy hitters where there only value is defense, that don't do much other than strikeout or hit hr. We had him, varsho. One is enough

A lot of us did.

The offense is going to be a big issue again this season... They need to upgrade the offense STAT, can't wait till the deadline... And no I'm not basing this on spring training lol, although it hasn't looked good.

RISP killed this team last year. They were pretty good at actually getting the runners on base prior to that.

Guess who was the biggest culprit there?

2024 has the potential to be an unmitigated disaster for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Pitching and defense can win a lot of games. TB has been using that recipe for success for years now.

I’d love to see them double down and and sign Blake Snell to be the last member of the starting rotation. Then they could let Manoah slowly work on things in AAA, or trade him. But that aint happenin :(
