GT: Blue Jays @ Rays - Sept 22 - Sept 24

Post#1 » by Cyrus » Fri Sep 22, 2023 9:09 pm

Well that last game didn't go how I expected to, even with King Cole on the mound and no Vladdy. But I guess winning 2 out 3 ain't bad, so ya'll stuck with me making another game thread.

Likely need to go to 6-3 in these last nine, so we better sweep the first 3 against the Rays, even though we never play well in the trop. We got CBass in game 1 against Tyler, what can we expect in this game and rest of series, besides more whining and crying about the jays?

Discuss suckas!

Oh yeah tonight game at 6:40, weird start time.

Going 6-3 in these last nine guarantees us a postseason position, no matter what the other teams do. Going 5-4 makes it very likely.

But lets worry about the math later. For now, let's get some wins.

6-3 will be no problem for a serious, dialed in team like ours.

Biggio trying to hit velocity is and has always been hilarious. Incredible they batted him cleanup for this one and benched Davis for the worst hitter in the majors (Espinal).

I know they have no titles but it feels like the annoying Rays are the greatest franchise in sports history

Gotta love having Whit out there in left field and giving up doubles unnecessarily. How is Kiermaier not playing this game?

And not having the Kiermaier/Varsho OF costs them a run immediately.

Glasnow is allowing a .505 OPS vs RHBs this year (.733 OPS vs. LHBs). Seriously, what are Whit and Espinal doing in this lineup?

Can't wait to see if we get a hit tonight.

I bet JS saw Espy and Whit's .500 average against Glasnow and just pencilled them in. They of course only have a combined 8 AB's against him and thus that stat is meaningless..

Lol at Schneider putting in his best "contact" hitters for this game and Glasnow immediately makes complete fools out of them.

what a wasted season. i expect the jays offense to improve next year but the pitching will probably never be this good again.

I hope they lose 1-0 on a play that would have been made by Varsho in LF had Kiermaier actually started this game as they should have.

Yeah this is another Cole game. Best we can hope for is take a bunch of pitches and get Glasnow out of the game by the 7th inning.

Baltimore got Glasnow for 6 last time out and the Twins got him for 4 before that.

This team's offense is an absolute joke.
