Question #2 re Jay Jackson? Is the finally gone.
Perhaps I have played to much OOTP over the years, but as far as I am aware a DFA is not an outright release
- He is now on waivers and has 3 days to be claimed by somebody else.
- At the end of 7 days (or 10), the Jays either have to demote him (which he can reject), promote him back to the MLB roster, or release him.
- So if he clears waivers, the Jays could then put him back on the 40 man roster and presumably waive Wes Parsons.
Question #3 - Assuming the Jays can bring him back on the 40 man roster after he clears waivers, could he be eligible for a later playoff round in case we run into injuries? He was on the Jays 40 man roster as of August 31 which is the basic requirement for playoff eligibility. Or was this invalidated by the DFA

If it makes you feel any better, those were bottles of Henkell Trocken, which go for $16.95 at the LCBO.
