I am all for celebrations, but spending tens of thousands of dollars on champagne and celebrating like you won a World Series, when in reality you are the 6th Seed with zero playoff wins is a bit much for me. At least win a Wild Card Round and then maybe have these over the top celebrations. I guess at least the players will have these memories to cherish, if they get bounced out early like they did last year.

Baseball teams have been doing this forever. The baseball season is a huge grind and even with expanded playoffs its still really really hard to make it. I say let them celebrate it and enjoy it.

Go ahead and start it. Is that the official start time now?

Nah but that would be my guess

Nothing wrong with celebrating after playing 162 freaking games. Let them have fun.

Nothing wrong with celebrating for sure. Everything wrong celebrating like you won the World Series after getting blown out at home and only backing into the playoffs at the whim of other teams.

Like the other dude said, Maybe actually WIN a single playoff game, let alone round, before going this insane. How dumb will these guys look if they lose both games in Minnesota after this?

I never cringed harder in my life watching that farce.

You guys do know these celebrations are set up/sponsored by MLB and every single team does them, right?

Along with that, making the playoffs in the MLB is an accomplishment (whether this board wants to admit it or not) and there is nothing wrong with celebrating for an hour or two with their teammates and families after playing 6 games a week for 6 months straight

Who cares. Just turn it off if it’s that big of a deal for you.

Realgm is more impressed with play-in games than wildcard I guess.

I'm more concerned that the 30 year Olds are getting hammered when they have a possible day game on Tuesday. It takes like 2 Days to recover when you're old.

Isnt the wild card basically a play in game? In my mind the playoffs dont even start until the ALDS. A best of 3 series is a joke to be called a "playoff".

Glad we got saved from the earliest time slot. 4:38 isn’t too bad at all

A franchise that has lost an amazing 19 playoff games in a row (Minnesota) vs a franchise that has lost 5 playoff games in a row (Toronto). Somebody has to win!
We have the edge here.

Not going to bother checking but I feel like all of those 19 losses were to the Yankees.

He’s fine, he’s pitching Tuesday. They should also probably be starting Kikuchi on Wednesday given how many LHBs the Twins have.
