All things considered a split at the Trop is always a W and we had 2 really strong offensive games (one of which without Bo). Not a perfect start by any means but I'll take it.

There's been a lot of crying here about IKF but that one is far more weird. They exercised the option for 2/21M on him based on about 15 innings.

Why are they even experimenting with the 4 and 5 with a guy with an ops of 674 last season? I thought spring training meant nothing.

I'm all for giving him a chance to improve offensively but sorry, he's never had an ops over 755 and thus doesn't merit a high impact batting spot.

At the end of last season, he was batting 9th. If there was any sense, he should have to prove himself, not be handed a prime spot on a silver platter.

Its like they are trying to justify the trade or somethng, just play the dude at 8th or 9th where he belongs, until he starts hitting better, then move him up the line up. Don't force him at the 4th/5th spot...

Good series. Would have loved to win one more, but it's the Trop - I will gladly take a split. Nearly halfway through this rough stretch. Let's hope we can beat up on the Astros while they're spinning.

Davis Schneider and Clement have to be everyday players. Varsho is prime Kevin Kiermaier, he hits 8 or 9. No more cleanup Varsho

That trade for Varsho still blows me away. I can't believe we traded a top catching prospect for him.

We should have a cross-board poll after May 12

Varsho trade vs Poeltl trade

Absolutely. Clement has earned 5-6 games a week, and benching Schneider against righties is absurd. Schneider is likely our second best - if not the best - offensive outfielder. Having both Varsho and Kiermaier in the lineup on a regular basis is going to suck. Bringing back Kiermaier made little sense. You can afford to have one defensive centre fielder in your everyday lineup, not two.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
