They're gonna lose by 1 run in a game where they gave up a run due to a player completely misplaying a flyball at a position he's literally never played at before.

Unserious franchise.

Why is Turner hitting now and not earlier when a LHP was pitching with two on and nobody out

What pitch are you looking for to swing at Biggio?

I am still dumbfounded why Turner did not pinch hit earlier for Vogelbach? Did Schneider not see the numbers that point out that Vogelbach is atrocious against LHP? I have seen enough of Vogelbach. He should no longer be taking up a MLB roster spot.

I rather have one of the guys from Buffalo like Horwitz or Martinez get the chance instead. It is a joke they had Barger starting in LF, a position he has never played in previously for his MLB debut. I bet you no other MLB franchise would be that stupid to have made those two moves tonight. Just throwing away games in April and losing by 1 Run due to sheer stupidity.

The same team that brought back Kiermaier for his outfield defense decided to start a rookie at an outfield position he's never played before?

Not only is that bad for the team, it's bad for Barger. There's enough pressure on the kid starting his first MLB game - why do that to him. Just dumb all around.

Randle's right, it really is an unserious franchise. I bet all those analytics gurus running the show got big raises after last year's playoff debacle.

The Bisons HC would be a great addition.
Or make Mattignly the official HC.
A serious team would have fired Guillermo at the least, after last season.
Makes me wonder how some of the players feel about having to listen to this guy,but the players at the top should be doing a lot better than they are.

There’s really nothing wrong with Vogelbach, he is what he is (a platoon DH/pinch hit option that should never be used against a LHP). It’s not his fault the team is either too stupid or too unserious to use him properly in games.

Even as a platoon DH Pinch hit option, he has been a terrible below average hitter who struck out a tonne ever since 2016 (outside of one decent year). I am sure Martinez or Horwitz in Buffalo can do a lot better than hitting .118 like Vogelvach right now.

He has had 17 AB's. However, I rather have Martinez or Horwitz here given the chance over him. 8 years of prior hitting data show us that Vogelbach is what he is- a terrible below average hitter who strikes out a lot. One decent Spring Training this year does not change that fact.

He’s a 125 career wRC+ against RHP and a 35 career wRC+ against LHP. I can only presume the manager had no idea of that given his usage in last night’s game.

I tend to agree that you can’t have him on the roster any longer if the team is either too stupid or too unserious to make use of him properly though. Unfortunately we’re miles away from the common sense Gibbons days of managing.

The thing that makes even less sense about Barger in LF last night, was that even among the players who started Clement would have been a better and more experienced defensive option at LF than Barger.
Tre Mann should have been a Top 10 Pick in the 2021 Draft

Gibby's entire coaching motto was essentially "don't do dumb ****". Recognizing what dumb **** is is apparently not very common unfortunately.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
