Nationals (2-1) @ Mets (3-0)

Post#1 » by Rafael122 » Mon Apr 9, 2012 3:04 pm

Mets are starting off the season 3-0 after sweeping the Braves but most project the Mets to finish last anyway so I doubt the 3-0 start is an indicator that they are going to be good.

Pitching matchups for the series:

Edwin Jackson vs. Mike Pelfrey - 4/9/2012
Ross Detwiler vs. Dillon Gee - 4/10/2012
Stephen Strasburg vs. Johan Santana - 4/11/2012

Too bad that Strasburg/Santana game isn't nationally televised, instead its on at 1 in the afternoon on a Wednesday.

Bad news concerning Storen as well perhaps being out for a while. Maybe the season.

If any team could absorb a loss of Drew Storen well its this team. But Rodriguez got the loss last night and looked very mortal. As Brad Lidge has the last two seasons.

Eager to see Detwiller tonight--I'm a fan. Hate what the Nats did to Lannan, but I do like Detwiller alot.

It's not like Lannan is blowing up in AAA, he had a horrific outing last I checked. If he wants to get traded, pitch better, Nats won't just give him away. If they can get a center fielder out of it, they will do it.

And Storen looks like he has bone chips in his elbow. I'm not surprised, it just seems like every young arm goes through some kind of problem within the first couple of seasons. It's a 3-5 month injury by the way, if he has to get surgery.

Nats beat the Mets 4-0 with a dominant pitching performance by Strasburg. Mets walked 10 batters in today's game, and the Nats were only able to muster 4 runs, 2 of them I believe came on bases loaded walks, so the offense needs to find its gears.

If and or when he puts it all together, a beast year could be had
