They haven't announced the exact date yet, but I believe it will be late in June.

It should have been unanimous, the fact it wasn't shows why so many fans of the mountain west teams hate the national media.

Congratulations, it was a team effort (D.Nuggests style of play) more than just an individual effort, as Nikola put himself.
Coaches in Denver gave him freedom and had trust in Jokić's abilities and talent, especially coach Philippe. He is the lowest drafted NBA player to win this award, also the first Nugget ever and the first Serbian ever. Many in Serbia are proud of Nikola and he will be a great inspiration for the future generations of basketball players. Serbian national team hopes that Nikola will never again have doubts about playing for his country.

Foregone conclusion, but the right call. Saw Embiid only got ONE first-place vote (bets it came from the PHI writer ?). He really has taken his game to another level, hope that can continue or continue to increase taking him to Playoffs MVP (and title).

Jokic is in the best physical shape of his life, he added some muscle mass , he's lean, moves quicker on the court etc.

I didn't want to start new thread because of one think that ran through my mind. So I'll use this one.

I just realized, can you remember the last time Nikola made one of those stupid fouls when he had like three, four and after TO just grapped someone out of frustration to stop the game and to have pointless argument with ref about not calling previous foul on him?

Remember saying "please don't do it please don't do it..... OF COURSE he did" and rolling your eyes? I can't really recall the last time he did something like that.

And why I am writing this is to praise his effort to be the best player he can become. His defensive effort this year is amazing. And he also works on mental side of his game.

Jokic is having the greatest two year run, all around, perhaps ever.

Since the beginning of last season- last 142 games- including 2021 playoffs:

26.5/12.2/8.0 while leading all centers in steals by a wide margin.

--The only player in NBA history to put up a slash line of 26.5/12.2/8.0 in any single season is Oscar Robertson, all the way back in 61'-62', and he did it in a game that featured 127 possessions per game, playing 44 MPG.

--Jokic, on the other hand, has done this in a league averaging only 102 possessions per game, and while playing only 34 MPG. And, he's sustained it for more than a season and a half.

That is astounding.

For those who prefer advanced metrics (that we have for all eras of the NBA), here are a few objective things to consider:

1. His 31.1 PER across the last 142 games stacks up against the best (single) seasons of Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Lebron James.

2. His BPM is 11.9, which stacks up against anything Michael Jordan ever did in a (single) season, and it falls just behind Lebron James' epic 2008-2009 campaign

3. His TS% of .634 would be fifth all time among all high volume 3 point shooters, such as himself. And again, that's compared to only an 82 game sample for the other players.

His defense is also drastically improved.

1. He's second in Defensive Rating among all centers (behind only Gobert).

2. He's first in Defensive Win Shares among all centers.

3. He's first in Defensive Box Plus Minus among all centers.

Does anyone expect class out of him and his brother? Playing the victim card is a little hard after literal low blows by his cheap ass.

I was at that game, dude walked off right below my seats like he was a hard-ass tough guy. No respect for him. Won't ever admit his foul in the first place was a cheap shot. I wash Joker would call him out on it honestly.

Sorry I am late to your trolling party, but let me help my friend explain.

Maybe I am old school, but if you take a flying knee and elbow aimed at a shooters ribs and bad knee while he is stretched out in a shot than you are lucky if all that happens is a shove in the back when you try to act like it didn't happen. Every organized game I played and you likely would have had the refs and your teammates pulling 5 guys off your ass. If it happened on the playground than you would likely have 7-8 guys beating the crap out of you as some of your teammates will be kicking your ass as well. He literally tried to injure Jokic and turned his back while talking **** like a punk, Jokic reacted to his dirty play. I am glad that he got injured and Jokic didn't considering Morris was the one trying to injure JOkic.

Jokic is named Western Conference Player of the Week.

https://www.nba.com/news/nba-players-week-nikola-jokic-trae-young-2022

He stands alone as the only player in NBA history to average 25+ points, 13+ rebounds, and 6+ assists throughout a season.

https://www.denverstiffs.com/2022/4/4/23010489/nikola-jokic-western-conference-player-of-the-week-nba-mvp-playoffs

He is closing in on the MVP award.
Canned in Denver.

Jokic by all means is having a better season than last year, he should easily win again. However, there is this thing call East Coast Bias that has a way of screwing anything associated with Denver
